Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Tanimoto.
Hi Kimberly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in the Northeast in New Hampshire and left home at about 19 years old and joined the Air Force.
After serving one term, I jumped both feet first into college and then eventually pharmacy school graduating with both a PharmD and an MBA.
As a pharmacist, I worked mainly with the geriatric population, and the majority of my patients were on 10, 20, sometimes even 30+ meditations each and none of them were ever getting any better.
I just kept thinking there had to be a better way to help patients live a healthier and happier life. I felt like we were just putting a band-aid on the problem every month and never getting to the root cause.
That is why I decided to get my yoga certification as well as start a wellness coaching program. I want to get to the root cause of people’s problems. I want to help them reduce stress, sleep better, lose weight and gain muscle, develop an exercise and walking plan, and I even offer medication and supplement counseling services.
I love helping women achieve their goals and live a happier life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had many struggles along the way, like most people!
I grew up pretty impoverished, and when I left the military, I was broke, like eating ramen every day and going to the food bank broke, but I never gave up hope.
I made a conscious effort every day to work toward my goals.
Even if it is something super small every day, it is important to do something. I think that having a strong support system is important as well. It could be family, friends, coworkers, or even neighbors. Having at least one person in your corner is so important!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a registered pharmacist as well as a meditation and wellness coach,
I help women reduce their stress, sleep better, create an exercise and walking plan, help them with recipes and meal planning, and I even offer medication and supplement counseling.
Obesity and illnesses are skyrocketing, and we definitely need more healers out there in this world.
We need to get to the root problems and stop putting a band-aid on the situation.
Of course, you can do it on your own, but it can be so helpful to have a coach walk you through everything and hold you accountable to your own goals as well!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how much there is to do here, and we have some of the best restaurants in the world!
One of the things I like the least is probably the traffic, even though it’s not even that bad compared to some cities!
