Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexie Chamberlain.
Hi Lexie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Since I was a little girl I loved photography. I got my first point-and-shoot camera when I was 6 years old and grew up documenting everything! I never had the confidence to take photography further, but I took pictures every chance I could. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that one of my best friends asked me to do his senior pictures.
After that, I started an Instagram page and shared them. I ended up taking senior pictures of over 10 people in my class in just a couple of weeks. After that, I started doing it more and more. I got asked to shoot my first wedding in 2019 and it took off from there! I went full-time instantly and have never looked back!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My first full year of photography full-time was in 2020. I was just starting a new business, learning the ins and outs, and everything kind of changed.
Luckily, I was able to stay super busy. I took many more last-minute elopements and took every opportunity I could find. 2020 was definitely the hardest year of my business, but it was where I learned the most! In 2020 I learned how to be there for my clients, good communication, and so much more!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in weddings, couples, and elopements! I absolutely love my job and feel so grateful I have gotten to pursue my dream. I truly believe that every story is unique and I want to capture that in my photos.
I want to capture the raw, real feelings of every moment, so my couple remembers the joy/emotion of their day. Most of my clients are drawn to my work from natural, candid, and true-to-color images!
