Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Cotter
Hi lindsay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Cotter Crunch in 2009 thanks to my husband, a former triathlete. Cooking to fuel his performance and recovery led me to share my recipes on his blog. Before I knew it, I had created my own, focusing on real-food nutrition for athletes.
Over time, I began developing recipes to support my own health, shifting my focus to a gluten-free diet.
Today, my recipes continue to feature wholesome, nourishing ingredients with inclusive options for all diets. My mission is to share how food fuels the body while creating delicious recipes that restore and energize!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been a bumpy road, but every challenge—whether health-related or navigating industry shifts and algorithm changes—has taught me something valuable. The biggest lesson? Always remember why you started and who you’re serving. That’s what has kept me grounded and persevering, even 15 years later.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc.?
I’m the founder of Cotter Crunch gluten-free website, where I create gluten-free and allergy-friendly recipes that are nourishing, approachable, and full of flavor. As a Nutrition Specialist, I focus on how ingredients work together to support overall well-being, making it easier for people to enjoy food that fuels them—without sacrificing taste. I’m known for taking the overwhelm out of being new to gluten-free living, especially for families, by providing simple, adaptable recipes that make mealtime stress-free and delicious.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the community that has grown around Cotter Crunch. Seeing people feel empowered in their kitchens, whether they’re navigating food allergies, dietary restrictions, or just looking for better-for-you meals, is incredibly rewarding. Also, having the opportunity to evolve with the industry while staying true to my mission—15+ years in—is something I take a lot of pride in.
What sets you apart from others?
I combine my background in nutrition with a deep understanding of flavor, ensuring my recipes are both functional and crave-worthy. I focus on allergy-friendly recipes that make gluten-free cooking feel accessible rather than restrictive, helping people enjoy food with confidence. I also specialize in making the transition to gluten-free living easier for families by creating recipes that are simple, satisfying, and designed for real life. Beyond the recipes, I’ve built a space that encourages balance—whether that’s through food, lifestyle, or simply embracing the journey of wellness in a sustainable way.
Cotter means “pin” or “fastener”—something that holds things together. And I like to think that’s exactly what we do for our community—bringing people together through food, support, and shared experiences.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success, for me, isn’t just about numbers or trends—it’s about impact. When I can reach more people who are struggling with dietary restrictions, help them feel less overwhelmed, and provide them with the tools to enjoy food again, that’s success. I want Cotter Crunch to be that pin—the support that holds things together for individuals and families navigating gluten-free and allergy-friendly living. Seeing someone go from feeling lost and overwhelmed to feeling healthy and confident in the kitchen is what drives me to keep creating, sharing, and connecting.
