

Today we’d like to introduce you to Makenzi Jones.
Makenzi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have a long history of being active and participating in a variety of sports and activities, which has assisted me in developing my own physical and mental well-being. As I’ve grown older, I’ve discovered new passions such as hiking weight lifting, and yoga, which have allowed me to continue to challenge myself physically and mentally. I have a deep understanding of the importance of physical activity and how it can positively affect a person’s life, and I want to help others experience the same feelings of accomplishment, self-love, and self-discovery that I have. This is why I became a personal trainer and want to share my passion for health and fitness.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It can be challenging to work as a personal trainer because many people want to see immediate results, but achieving and maintaining good health and fitness is a long-term process that requires consistency, patience, and dedication. As a personal trainer, it’s important that I educate my clients about the realities of the process and help them set realistic and sustainable goals. I see a lot of my clients give up. Constantly reminding them that the ultimate goal is not to achieve a certain look or a certain weight but to improve overall health and well-being. This has been my biggest struggle because I feel that it took a long time to figure out when to give up on my clients and when to push harder.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have found a lot of satisfaction in my role as a personal trainer because I have been able to build strong and positive relationships with my clients. Building relationships with clients is an important aspect of being a personal trainer, as it allows me to understand their needs and motivations on a deeper level, and to provide them with more personalized and effective guidance.
I feel that I am always able to bring a positive aura and good vibe to my clients, and I know it’s appreciated. Creating a positive and supportive environment for my clients can be just as important as providing them with expert guidance and instruction. Nobody wants to show up to the gym to decompress and be bombarded with their trainer’s drama and stress.
As a personal trainer, my ability to connect with my clients and create a positive experience for them makes all the difference in helping them achieve their goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
As of now I am currently offering online strength training and have plans to open a gym in the fall of 2023. This will be a great opportunity for me to expand my business and offer a wider range of services to my clients. This physical location will provide my clients a more immersive and interactive experience.
How do you define success?
Success to me is doing something that feels rewarding. I have always had a goal to be paid to do what I love!
Helping others find self-love is so rewarding to me and if I can find a way to do that and be paid for it… That to me is success!
