Daily Inspiration: Meet Mayci Neeley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mayci Neeley.

Hi Mayci, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started social media with a blog about my life story. I went to BYU on a full-ride tennis scholarship and during my freshman year, I was in a very abusive relationship that took a lot from me. Luckily I was able to get out of that relationship, and that is when I met someone new. We fell in love, and I found out I was pregnant. I decided to move back to my home state of California to figure out what I was going to do moving forward. It was when I was in California that I found out my boyfriend had died in a car accident in Spanish Fork canyon. I was devastated. My entire pregnancy was extremely depressing and I hardly made it out. If it wasn’t for my saving grace (my son), I don’t know if I would be here today. I had my son and went back to BYU to play tennis for them again. When my son was about 9 months old, I met my now husband. We became a family and got married in 2018 in the San Diego temple. We now have a child together as well. I used my blog to tell this story and that is what started my social media following. My purpose in starting social media was always to help other women that have gone through something similar or are currently going through it. To show them that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that they could do anything they set their minds to.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. The struggles I listed in the previous box. My struggle when it comes to social media is everything haha. It is everchanging and so comparison-filled that it makes this career very challenging.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am known for my life story, which I mentioned previously. Additionally, I am known for wholesome videos of my family. Before doing social media full time I worked at an advertising agency doing social media then Goldman Sachs and from there, I worked as a marketing manager for an MLM. I would say what sets me apart from others is that I have a lot of grit. I do not give up, I will keep pushing until I reach my goals. I am very determined and I know I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.
