Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaadie. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Rashaad “Shaadie” Nunnally is a true renaissance man from the Crestside streets of North Vallejo born on July 1, 1986, at 7:05 am at Hanford Naval Base in Lemoore, Ca. After moving from Vallejo to Sacramento in 2002, & graduating in 2004, he would be the first in over 40 years to be offered & sign a full track & field scholarship at UC Berkeley (Cal).
Shaadie would attend UC Berkeley on scholarship until 2007 when he withdrew from the school to grow on his own accord & focus on his music & family full time. With many years of independent grind, Shaadie has learned all facets of being an independent artist, a performer & true entrepreneur.
In 2008, Shaadie received his AA in Social Science from Sac City College. By 2012 after years of working for the State of California in Sacramento, a promotion sent him back to the Bay Area. While back in The Bay, Shaadie helped form the musical co-op MFM; Music Family Money. In 2014 Shaadie & his brother Brandon “KB” Henry founded their community outreach & entertainment company called Mac Life which is an acronym for Mind’s Achieving Change Living In Forgotten Environments.
In 2016, Shaadie moved him & his family & by 2017, Shaadie was hired as a lead vocalist & MC for the cover band The Lane Changers. As a member of the cover band, Shaadie met fellow singer Kirsten “Kiirt Banks” Banks. After joining musical forces & departing from their previous company, they purchased rental space & created Bassix Studios providing label services & multimedia for artists, companies & brands of all genres.
As of September 2021, Shaadie has landed his own segment on ABC 4 Utah during Good Things Utah called “A Shot with Shaadie” where he showcases local talent, entrepreneurs & businesses from the minority communities of Utah live on TV. Aside from creating opportunities and platforms for entertainers and innovators of all kinds, Shaadie has become synonymous with connecting people with the right resources to fulfill their needs and dreams.
From event coordinating to entertainment directing, MC to host, booking agent to performer, on-screen personality to behind the scene organizer, Shaadie is a true Renaissance Man of resources and a Swiss Army Knife of entertainment services. Search “SHAADIE” on all platforms and get to know the man of many hats.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing was given to me. I’ve had to go through the fire & all the trials & tribulations to learn what to do & not to do from the mistakes & snakes I’ve come across.
Everything has been a leading experience & I’ve grown from it all into what I’ve become. And I’m still learning & growing to this day.
Having to deal with haters, technology changes in ways we release music, create music & present music along with all the everyday struggles of being a husband, a father & a black man in America just adds to the daily tasks of simply surviving with a smile & style.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known for being an adapter, a dot connector, a puzzle creator & plug of all things entertainment. I’m what you can call a Renaissance Man when it comes to being creative within entertainment.
I’m a music artist, songwriter, studio owner & operator, event coordinator, event host, TV personality, news media producer, entertainment director & a hallway to many doors to help entertainers, entrepreneurs & business reach their goals & place them in the best opportunities & platforms.
To succeed in using entertainment services or breaking into the industry. I’m a source that’s a resource to plug others together.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Stay true to yourself. Stay faithful & persistent yet patient & strategic.
Don’t be afraid to try new things yet hold on to what my beliefs are even if I’m the only believer. Learn from your mistakes & trust your gut because not everyone that is with you is for you & not everyone that is for you is good for you.
Don’t be afraid to get no or to say no, but be open to listening & know when to say yes.
