Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I first fell in love with weddings and events during my freshman year of high school while working at a catering company. Although I enjoyed it, the hours were long and didn’t fit with my schedule, so I decided to explore other career paths for a while.
In 2020, my neighbor’s son was getting married, and they reached out to my mom, who owned an event venue, asking if she knew anyone who could cater a “Utah Soda Bar.” I overheard the conversation and, remembering my experience with drink bars at my catering job, thought, “Why don’t I do it?” Fortunately, my neighbors were receptive and entrusted their son’s major life event to a 16-year-old with a passion for events.
With encouragement from my parents, who saw the potential, they suggested, “You could really turn this into a business model!” Four years later, Club Soda has grown into a successful drink bar catering company, and we’ve catered hundreds of events across Utah.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Anyone who has owned a business will tell you it’s never as easy as it looks. As a young female entrepreneur, I’ve often felt inadequate and lacked confidence, especially when surrounded by larger wedding companies and groups. I started with no resources, facing square one with fear, uncertainty, and inexperience. Utah’s booming wedding and event industry can easily lead to comparisons, making it tempting to measure your business against others.
However, through late nights, focusing on what makes my company unique, and going the extra mile to make my clients feel valued and special, I’ve found the most success—not only in my business, but also in my personal growth and development.

How do you think about happiness?
I am happiest when I see others happy, and I truly believe we feed off each other’s joy. That’s why I love weddings and events so much—they mark some of the happiest moments in people’s lives. These celebrations bring together everyone who wants to share in that joy, creating a palpable energy that fills the atmosphere. Every event I do is unique, with its own special atmosphere and energy.
I love hearing the stories of why couples fell in love, learning about the connections guests have with the individuals being celebrated, and interacting with everyone present. These experiences fill my cup, and witnessing their excitement is incredibly rewarding.
