Hi Tanisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my journey in 2013 at a Shivananda ashram on the Bahamas. That was my first yoga teacher training and initiation into the Yoga system. I was first introduced to yoga and meditation from a ballet teacher when I was 13 I remember the feeling… how it balanced my emotions and anxiety. Right at that moment, Iknew that’s exactlywhere I wanted to be. After high school. I was unsure myself and what I wanted to do in life. I’ve always been obsessed with the human body and learning human technology, but my parents didn’t want me to go into Massage therapy so after high school I was somewhat lost gotten into substances and traveled quite a bit. I wasn’t utilizing my gift until 2013 with my religious parents surrendered to my calling and my grandpa asked me what I wanted to do and I said I wanted to Massage and do yoga since then I have traveled the world learning different healing modalities including Kundalini Tantra Yoga in India, Structural Integration at Soma Institute, Thai Massage in Thailand, Lomi Lomi in Hawaii, Manuel Lymphatic Drainage, Ashiatsu, Ayurveda in India, NASM Personal Training.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Sometimes the spiritual journey is a lonely one. My aim going forward is to share what I’ve learned and form community.
I always felt. I was very different from my upbringing and family but now we are best friends and have more in common than differences. My family is my biggest fans. They’re always wanting to get on my massage table and coming to my yoga classes, integrating my family with my spiritual community is one of my life lessons, learning to share my gifts without fear of ridicule while respecting others beliefs is something I’m learning to balance

What were you like growing up?
I am a very abstract thinker. I’ve been a wild child to a wild woman. I’ve never really fit in anywhere, but I do love humankind. I struggled with emotional control throughout my life, which brought me to yoga, meditation and working out. Those are the things that balance me and that I am aiming for mastery in this life. Even though that is a long way away, I’ve always felt at home in nature and dependent on my spiritual connection to the divine. I feel spiritually through physical movements, health and well-being. That is where I am aiming to bring to others.
