Daily Inspiration: Meet Tara Lynn Snow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Lynn Snow.

Hi Tara Lynn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My Story — How Hazel Blues® Came to Life

Fashion has always been what drives me. It’s about finding those one-of-a-kind pieces you just can’t live without — the ones that make you feel confident, comfortable, and totally you.

Honestly, it all started with a little too much online shopping (can I get an amen? 🤣) and a big love for fashion. Growing up in the great state of Louisiana, I was raised with strong Southern values — faith, family, and treating people right. Those same values still guide me every single day, even now that I’m living in Utah with my husband and our three wild boys.

One night, while lying in bed, I started thinking about how expensive raising kids can get. Bless it, everything adds up so fast! I wanted to find a way to help out financially but also do something I loved. That’s when the idea hit me — what if I started an online boutique? I rolled over and told my husband about my “crazy idea,” half expecting him to tell me I was out of my mind. But instead, he looked at me and said, “Let’s do it.”

And that’s how Hazel Blues® was born — from a dream, a prayer, and a whole lotta late-night faith.

What started as a tiny idea has turned into something I’m so proud of. I take so much joy in creating and curating custom clothing for women of all shapes and sizes. My goal has always been to make women feel beautiful and comfortable — because confidence isn’t a size, it’s a feeling.

These days, I get to work with some of the best designers across the country to bring y’all unique, quality pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. Every collection, every graphic tee, every cozy sweater is made with heart.

And I just have to say — none of this would be possible without you. Every order, every message, every photo y’all send wearing Hazel Blues® means more to me than you’ll ever know. What started as my “crazy dream” has turned into a community of women who show up for one another, who lift each other up, and who believe that comfort and confidence can go hand in hand.

So from the bottom of my heart — thank you. Without y’all, Hazel Blues® wouldn’t be what it is today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Whew, y’all — this journey hasn’t been easy. When I first started Hazel Blues® (which originally began as Tara Lynn’s Boutique), I ran into challenge after challenge, and there were plenty of moments where I thought, “What in the world am I doing?”

One of my biggest struggles in the beginning was sizing. Most boutiques back then stopped at a large or extra large. That broke my heart because I wanted to create a place where women of all shapes and sizes could find something that made them feel beautiful and confident. I couldn’t find vendors that offered inclusive sizing, so I had to get creative — finding new suppliers, designing custom pieces, and doing whatever it took to serve the women who believed in me.

Then came the comparison game. I’ll be honest — I got caught up watching what everyone else was doing. I’d scroll and compare and wonder why my growth didn’t look like theirs. I chased trends, chased validation, and lost sight of why I started in the first place. It wasn’t until I let go of that and started using my own voice, my own story, and my own purpose that everything changed. Once I leaned into me, Hazel Blues® started to truly grow — and boy, did it grow fast.

So fast, actually, that I could barely keep up. Orders were flying in, I was staying up until 3 a.m. packing boxes, answering messages, and trying to balance business and mom life. It was overwhelming and beautiful all at once — the kind of chaos you thank God for, even while you’re exhausted.

And then COVID hit. Overnight, no one was buying dresses anymore — and dresses were our bread and butter. That’s what we were known for. I had to completely shift gears and rethink everything. It was scary, but it pushed me to adapt, to expand, and to get creative with what we offered.

Just when I thought I’d seen it all, another curveball came. After 12 years of pouring my heart and soul into Tara Lynn’s Boutique, I had to rebrand. My name — my actual name — had been trademarked, and I could no longer use it. It felt like losing a part of myself. All those years of blood, sweat, and tears — gone in an instant.

But God’s timing is funny like that. A few years before, when I started my own clothing line, I had already created a new brand name — Hazel Blues®. The name came straight from my heart: I have hazel eyes, and my husband and our three boys all have blue. It felt personal, symbolic, and meant to be. So when the rebrand happened, it was devastating — but it was also the perfect reset.

Looking back, every struggle, every sleepless night, every hard lesson shaped me into who I am today. I’ve learned that growth isn’t always pretty, but it’s always worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well, y’all — I wear a lot of hats (and usually a cute one 😜). At the heart of it, I’m a designer, dreamer, and business owner who loves creating things that make women feel good and express who they are.

Through Hazel Blues®, my women’s clothing boutique, I specialize in curating and designing pieces that combine comfort and confidence. Whether it’s a buttery-soft graphic tee that speaks your mood or a show-stopping dress that turns heads, my mission has always been the same — to help women of every shape and size feel beautiful, comfortable, and seen.

What sets Hazel Blues® apart is that we’re not just selling clothes — we’re building a community. I work with top designers across the country to create exclusive, limited-edition styles that you won’t find anywhere else. And I’m intentional about making sure every woman can find her fit — from small to 3X and beyond. I never want a woman to walk away feeling like fashion isn’t for her. Around here, fashion is for everybody.

Then there’s my creative baby, 3Blues Designs on Etsy. That’s where my love for design and details really comes out. I create digital artwork, custom chenille patches, boutique-style graphics, and apparel designs for other makers and small shop owners. I love helping other creatives bring their visions to life — whether it’s a small-town boutique needing a one-of-a-kind game day graphic, or a mama wanting something special to make her business stand out.

I’m most proud of how far this little dream has come — from a late-night idea to multiple thriving brands built from the ground up. What started as “just an online boutique” has turned into something much bigger. It’s a blend of fashion, creativity, and heart — from clothing that celebrates every body to digital designs that help other women chase their dreams.

What really sets me apart, though, is that everything I create has a story behind it. My work reflects my life — a mix of Southern roots, mama chaos, boho vibes, and a whole lotta heart. I’ve built this business with grit, prayer, and coffee (lots of coffee), and I never forget the women who made it possible.

Every order, every design, every message from a customer who feels beautiful in something I made — that’s what keeps me going. Hazel Blues® isn’t just my job… it’s my purpose.

What are your plans for the future?
You know, when I first started this business, my big dream was to build it up and eventually sell it for a big price tag. That was the goal — work hard, grow fast, and one day cash out.

But somewhere along the way, Hazel Blues® became more than just a business to me. It’s a part of who I am now. It’s my story, my creative outlet, my connection to women all over the country. Honestly, I can’t imagine my life without it.

These days, my plans look a little different. I’m less focused on the “end goal” and more focused on building something lasting — something my kids can be proud of, something that keeps evolving with me. I want to keep growing Hazel Blues® and my Etsy shop, 3Blues Designs, in ways that inspire other women to chase their dreams too.

I don’t know exactly what the future holds — but I do know it’s going to be extraordinary. Every season of this business has surprised me, challenged me, and blessed me in ways I never saw coming. So whatever comes next, I’m ready for it — with a grateful heart, a big vision, and probably a cherry coke zero in hand.
