Today we’d like to introduce you to Treyvon Khalil
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m 27 years old
I am a singer songwriter independent self taught music producer and engineer from clearfield Utah
I have surpassed over 2.5 million streams independently on digital platforms.
I have surpassed over 50,000 followers on the platform twitter (X). currently still recording all of my own original content and compositions I sell beats online locally and worldwide as well. I have a 3 year old son who was born in 2021 who’s been a huge part of my career and personal growth and success as an independent artist and producer & single dad! it has been challenging but I do my best to manage life with what I deal with. In 2017 I was diagnosed with severe paranoid schizophrenia disorder which is permanent and I have been managing that with therapy and medication since 2017. Back on April 4th 2017 was the day I was diagnosed and admitted to the behavioral unit at the hospital in Davis county for 26 days for mental illness treatment. Since then I’ve had a son, a beautiful life ahead of me and
more to come
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
not always,
I struggled my entire life
and have been in and out of schools and homes due to my mom being a hardworking single mother and providing for me and my 3 sisters on my moms side I have 3 sisters
I’m the only boy. On my dads side he has 5 girls so I come from a large family with no type of background really in music until one day I decided to audition for American idol
Season 13. I was 14 years old. Terrified but determined to jus be heard, I tried out
but didn’t make it past the producer level .
now I kept going i continued to work hard
I’m still mannaging my life and career
while working with others & developing better partnerships and relationships for the present moment and future. I hope I can leave a mark or even a message behind that it’s ok to get help it’s ok to be open it’s ok to talk about your mental health if you ain’t doing too well. That’s OK. I trust that.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer songwriter self taught engineer and music producer. I started recording myself on mixcraft originally with my best friend in 2014 and I kept going.
I’m still recording all my
Own original songs and others who need a mix. I’m always selling beats and or collaborating with other artist’s and producers and engineers out there.
I have a team a small one but I feel like working with the right people ultimately pays off because people come and go
but connecting with good people will always be a plus in my eyes. I started producing beats in 2018 and I haven’t stopped since. I still produce all my music Mostly and I produce for others I have received placements for these songs .
I’m always open to learning and will always
try my
Best to go the distance.
I have worked with artists including
Multiszn, 33dontay, Breana Marin, & more
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
