Exploring Life & Business with Alexa Noah of Bark N’ Go

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Noah.

Hi Alexa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Howdy! My name is Alexa, and it all started on my honeymoon… scrolling through puppy listings. That’s when Toma and Paco joined our family—two high-energy breeds we weren’t fully prepared for.

They taught us the joys and challenges of dog ownership, pushing us to rise to the occasion. Through training, exercise, and outdoor adventure, my dogs quickly became my passion.

When our trainer introduced us to slat-mills, we were just looking for one to use at home. Instead, I ended up adopting an entire business!

Now, I run Bark N’ Go, a mobile dog gym that brings slat-mill workouts straight to your doorstep. We help dogs get the physical and mental exercise they need with structured, safe, and fun sessions.

Along the way, I discovered how impactful this kind of exercise can be for shelter dogs—providing vital enrichment, reducing stress, and giving them a better chance at adoption. I try to get to shelters as often as I can to share this valuable tool!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced since taking over the business has been largely internal—battling imposter syndrome and moments of self-doubt.

But if the dogs have taught me anything, it’s patience, presence, and gratitude.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I run a mobile dog gym where I help dogs get the structured physical exercise they need by running them on a slatmill.

A slatmill is a treadmill specifically designed for dogs—unmotorized, so they control the pace and can stop whenever they choose. It’s a safe, low-impact way for dogs to move their bodies, burn energy, and build confidence.

I’m also passionate about bringing this service to shelters. Many of those dogs don’t have access to the physical outlets they need, and my mobile gym can be a great way to support shelters and help give those dogs a better shot at thriving while they wait for home.

My hope is for Bark N’ Go to one day solely use our services to visit shelters and run their dogs—giving them the exercise, enrichment, and joy they deserve.

To make that happen, we need amazing sponsors! We’re looking for dog-loving individuals and businesses who want to be part of something meaningful and help make a real difference in the lives of shelter dogs.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’m always looking for ways to grow—both in business and as a dog handler. One of the most impactful resources for me right now is working with Andrea at Canyons Canine Training. She’s an incredible trainer, and I’ve learned so much from her about dog behavior, training, and what it truly means to be a reliable, trustworthy handler.

I’m also inspired by Alexis Schulof at KetoNatural Pet Foods. Her passion for volunteering at shelters and helping dogs thrive despite their circumstances is something I really admire. She advocates for overlooked dogs, usually high energy breeds, fosters them, and supports their growth through movement, enrichment, and compassionate care.

Another woman who inspires me is Lizzy Sawyer of Evening Arts Pet Accessories. She created the Shelter Support Program, which brings together local businesses and volunteers to give shelter dogs a day filled with joy, care, and exposure. Her dedication to animal welfare is a fire that will never burn out!

I’m so grateful to learn from such awesome women!

I also love listening to dog training podcasts that explore philosophy, technique, and real-world application. Next Level Dog by Jay Jack is one of my favorites to learn about dog sports and fulfilling our canine friends genetic needs. I also really enjoy The Everyday Trainer podcast for her down-to-earth feel, technique and mindfulness when it comes to training with your dog.

All of these resources help keep me inspired, open-minded, and continuously evolving—in how I work with dogs, care for my own, and grow my business.
