Exploring Life & Business with Beau Tippetts of Offroad RV Resort

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beau Tippetts.

Hi Beau, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a computer engineer by profession that grew up in a small community in Wyoming that has come to love the beauty and nature of Utah. I have now lived here longer than where I grew up but the diversity across the state amazes me almost daily! I am also someone who finds as much joy sharing great food, places and experiences with others as much as enjoying it myself. When Spencer shared his interest and efforts looking into running an RV park, I was excited about the opportunity it would provide to not only enjoy the amazing area our park is in, but to help others experience that as well! When one of our guests starts talking about their experience in the area, we both know that our words fall way short of expressing the serenity and majesty of the area. It is amazingly unique and awe-inspiring, other-worldly and yet makes you feel deeply connected at the same time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of our biggest challenges has been to get the word out. Almost every guest has expressed their love of how our park is different than every other park they have stayed in across the country, but we also hear all the time that people had no idea such a gem existed. We know the park is young and that we haven’t added certain amenities yet that would allow those without self contained rigs stay with us, but building our visitorship is a key to progress on all accounts.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our RV park is right next to the Fremont river with the amazing backdrop of Steamboat Point. We are centrally located between Capitol Reef National Park and Goblin Valley State Park. You think that might be enough of a reason to stay with us, but if you throw in that we are the closest park with full RV hookups to Moonscape Overlook, Factory Butte, Bentonite Hills, Swing Arm City OHV Recreational area, as well as the Mars Desert Research Station, it starts to feel like a must stay. And that is all before you consider the fact that we have the largest sites and space between sites of any RV park in the country!

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Running such a new park has been a big risk. The area is definitely growing, but more established options closer to other businesses means that we are sometimes the last choice for individuals who have not stayed with us before.
