Hi Chelsea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
MacroPhotoNYC began out of a love of nature, and the belief natural beauty can be found anywhere—even in some of the world’s biggest cities—if you’re willing to stop and look. As it turns out, we’re not alone!
We’ve relocated from our founding home base in NYC to Pittsburgh, traveled near and far from the mountains of Utah to the beaches of Mexico to capture nature’s beauty from our mobile phones. Contributors are featured each day from all over the world, and nature lovers are brought together to celebrate all the surprises we encounter if we stop to look.
Our founder’s day job is a desk job, and MacroPhotoNYC was born out of a need to get outside and smell the roses once in a while and bring like-minded people together.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been fairly smooth. This is a hobby that I utilize to bring people together, learn, innovate, stay on top of digital storytelling, and stay active. I see potential future paths to a revenue-positive transition but for now, establishing the community and bringing together like-minded nature lovers is quite satisfactory.
