Exploring Life & Business with Chris Von Stierburg of Nexus Kitchen and Bath

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Von Stierburg.

Hi Chris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started doing tile installation, quartz countertops, and custom made cabinets with a strong focus on white-glove customer service. The goal was to deliver projects with great craftmanship on time and on budget.

With a background in corporate finance and business management, I knew that the keys to any successful project were effective communication, team work, and a keen eye for detail.

So, after successfully delivering a few complex projects, we started getting referred by word of mouth and this quickly turned into an incredible high-demand business. We were able to expand our business into a full servicing remodeling company with flooring, painting, wallpaper, appliances and accessories, glass door enclosures, and interior design.

I decided to focus on the kitchen and bathroom remodeling niche because kitchens are the hearts of every family. It is where memories are created. It is the gathering space where important moments take place. In summary, kitchens are the families’ most lived area. Thus, families deserve an inspirational space for such precious memories.

And as for bathrooms, these are the areas where we renovate ourselves. This is where we clean up and relax after a long day of work. This is the space where get ready to go fight the good battle and make our dreams come true.

We are located in Draper, and we serve both Salt Lake and Utah County. We love to work with families and make their dreams a reality.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road, but the biggest challenge has been to keep up with demand. It is really difficult to find skilled workers that are also reliable and trustworthy. So, we cannot subcontract or bring someone in the team just because they have experience working in a certain trade. For us, it takes more than a few years in the industry to partner with us. We are very careful at choosing who do we work with. We hand pick the people in our team, and anyone associated with us. We are constantly working on partnerships and open to collaboration in order to find the best people, but it is a process that takes time.
