Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Gittens.
Hi Gina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As much as I’d like to say that I can tell my story in one paragraph. I really can’t there are so many moving parts to what makes Gina… Gina… Oh yeah, I’m Gina by the way…
I’m originally from the East Coast but moved out west back in 2006.
I have a very interesting past, to say the least, and have definitely been through my fair share of struggles. I was raised by a single mom, who had her own struggles she faced while raising my siblings.
I’ve struggled with my mental health, I’m a survivor of domestic violence, both as the victim and the witness to the violence in my early years.
But somehow with the help of therapy, wellness practices, shifting my core beliefs, and engaging in spiritual practices; I’ve managed to become a mom, a business owner, a creator, and a podcaster. But most of all I’m a grown woman trying to navigate through life in this place we call a world, all while trying to elevate the lives of other Women of Color as I journey through.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges and lessons I’ve overcome and learned since becoming a business owner is getting over my fear of stepping into the unknown. As a Taurus, I tend to lean towards structure and although owning a business can lead to having a more flexible schedule and lifestyle it can sometimes feel like it lacks routine and structure.
Facing this challenge and learning this lesson, I had to allow myself to be okay with stepping into the unknown and knowing that what is meant for me will never pass me by. To this day this is still something I struggle with, but allowing myself to feel those feelings of uncertainty and knowing that they will soon pass has truly helped me throughout this journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of ZenVen. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Now, this part of telling my story is really my favorite.
Where do I start…
One thing to know about A little piece of ZenVen is it’s a sacred safe space for women of color who seek to enhance their lives in some way.
ZenVen enriches and enlightens the lives of W.O.C, who before may not have known they had access to these tools to bring alignment to their lives. A little piece of ZenVen does this by offering services (Cleansing, Reiki, and Readings). We also have products used to enhance the lives of W.O.C everywhere. These products include our signature Self Care Sacred Space pieces that include the scents Energy, Serenity, Self-Love, and Sweet Dreams. These pieces were created as tools to invoke deep feelings of self-care when used, which can then enhance your life overall.
ZenVen is to always try to advance in the practices and tools offered through our business to ensure women of color everywhere are able to access true alignment without limitations.
ZenVen is different than most wellness shops out today because A little piece of ZenVen is focused solely on the advancement and wellness of W.O.C.
ZenVen isn’t just another trendy social media metaphysical shop. The services and products offered are truly created to ensure the overall wellness of W.O.C when they utilize our products or services.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
The role that luck had played in my life and my business is by showing me how divinely protected I am.
There are so many situations that really should have broken me and somehow something great would follow. It helped me realize there’s truly a purpose for my life.
