Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Wathen.
Hi Grace, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I never set out to be an acupuncturist—it’s a path that unfolded naturally. I was always drawn to healing and fascinated by the way the body finds balance when given the right support.
That curiosity began in my granny’s kitchen. She believed deeply in the quiet medicine of plants—a warm cup of peppermint for digestion, chamomile for rest, something steeped slowly and offered with care. Long before I understood the language of herbal energetics, I understood the feeling: being steadied, soothed, and supported by nature.
That early imprint shaped everything.
Through my formal studies, I went on to earn my doctorate in Chinese medicine, immersing myself in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and classical herbalism. What I discovered felt both ancient and familiar: the body is always moving toward balance when we create the right conditions.
Wildflower Remedy is a natural extension of this journey. It is my way of honoring my granny’s influence while bringing together clinical knowledge and botanical tradition. Each blend is crafted with intention—designed to support balance, calm the nervous system, and reconnect us to the simple ritual of healing.
For me, healing has always been about relationship: to plants, to animals, to our own bodies, and to each other.
And it all began with a cup of tea.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I had $2,000 to my name when I started acupuncture school! I also struggled to keep my practice afloat during Covid (it was in the Bay Area at the time).
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I have an herbal tea company – Wildflower Remedy. I make medicinal herbal blends from flowers. I am a licensed herbalist and acupuncturist
