Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazz Jackson.
Hi Jazz, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Jazz Jackson is a POWERHOUSE digital marketer, artist manager, and emerging A&R with over a decade of proven expertise. She has helped shape and impact culture and continues to drive success within an ever-evolving creative space. She is a 2015 graduate of Sacramento State University (B.F.A Film Production and Digital Media) with experience in photography, videography, creative direction, and screenwriting. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with past clients including Pandora Radio, Mcdonald’s, Jersey Mike’s, Hydroflask, PUMA, Circle K, and Samsung to name a few, along with years of freelance experience as a digital strategist, content creator, and social media manager for brands and businesses.
With a passion for digital marketing, music, and a love for the creative arts, she has set out on her next venture, launching Unearthly Studios, a Black woman-founded creative agency specializing in digital marketing, creative strategy, and artist management. With a mission to impact, inspire, and guide the next generation of rising artists, creatives, and music professionals, Jazz’s own words state “This is where passion meets purpose. My goal is to cultivate and develop the next generation of stars, while also driving creativity and authenticity for my clients through intentional and impactful marketing that allows them to connect to their audiences and transform fans into superfans.”
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I always tell people that entrepreneurship is character development in real time. Launching a business is one thing—successfully building, nurturing, and scaling a thriving venture with the right foundation for long-term impact is entirely another. The journey is truly spiritual. It’s you versus you, every single day, with no one else to blame. As Alex Hormozi says, “Your business is either working for you or it’s working on you.”
The road hasn’t been smooth sailing, but it has been deeply rewarding. Every day brings another problem to solve, a pivot to navigate, or a new risk to embrace.
The challenges I’ve faced—and in many ways still navigate—center around personal healing, growth, and development. As founder and CEO of multiple ventures including UNEARTHLY Studios, my personal brand, and the upcoming relaunch of my vintage/sustainability-focused fashion brand SUMBAE, I’ve learned that I am always the biggest constraint in my businesses. I’m a student of life, and I know it’s always “be, do, have.” Who I’m being gets reflected outward in every area—how I show up in relationships with friends and family, how I build my businesses, lead my team, and serve our clients.
Because of this understanding, I focus on preparing for the version of myself who already has what I’m working toward. That means constantly learning, asking questions, and investing in myself to be in the right rooms with the right people.
The biggest challenge? Realizing you know nothing—and giving yourself grace in that process. Only then can you open yourself up to learning everything you need to succeed. Success leaves clues, especially for Black women entrepreneurs and creatives. Invest and keep investing in mentorship. Get in the room at industry conferences. Participate in the right communities. Be a student. The resources you need are out there, but you have to pay attention and put yourself out there to find them. Don’t feel like you have to do it alone.
But ultimately, the greatest challenge is self-belief. You have to believe you’re great, you’re limitless, and trust in your vision. That’s what carries you through the highs and lows, through different seasons of life. You have to keep going even when it feels like nothing is working, even when situations don’t pan out and you need to reset or pivot.
There’s a lot of glamorizing around entrepreneurship, but the reality includes experiences that truly test your grit, faith, character, and discipline. That’s where the real growth happens.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
UNEARTHLY Studios exists to empower artists and creatives to achieve their full potential through comprehensive artist management, creative marketing, and visual production services. We’re committed to fostering creativity, collaboration, and excellence—helping rising artists build their own communities, create their worlds, and establish sustainable careers in the industry.
What sets us apart is our holistic approach to artist development. We don’t just manage careers; we cultivate creative ecosystems. We understand that today’s artists need more than traditional representation—they need partners who can navigate the modern landscape of streaming, social media, live experiences, and community building.
In our first operational year, the magic our team has created speaks for itself. Our legacy client Jr. Rhodes completed over 75 shows across Canada and performed at his first major festival, NXNE in Toronto. Hip-hop artist Seth Sutch’s album “Sunset Nostalgia” surpassed 200,000 streams under our artist development and management. We’ve expanded beyond individual artist services, providing strategy development and project management for Houston’s experiential event “The Review Room Live”—curating a sold-out community experience for local emerging artists and creatives.
We’re also committed to amplifying voices in the industry through our conversation series “Industry Trailblazers Chats,” available on our YouTube channel. Season One showcased emerging trailblazers in music, arts, and entertainment, and Season Two is currently underway.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is our commitment to authentic community building. We’re not just working with artists—we’re creating a movement where creativity, business acumen, and genuine connection intersect. Our clients don’t just succeed; they thrive in ways that align with their values and vision.
UNEARTHLY Studios represents the future of creative entrepreneurship—where artistry meets strategy, where community drives success, and where every project is an opportunity to push boundaries and create something truly unearthly.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Self-belief. Hands down, the most important quality to my success is my unwavering self-belief. If you believe you are limitless, you become limitless—and the entire world opens up for you. If you believe something is hard, impossible, or that you’re not capable, then you’re not. Whether you can or cannot, it’s up to you.
I know that I can do all things—hard things, “impossible” things. I believe I deserve the best that life has to offer: a thriving agency, successful creative businesses, and the opportunity to guide, inspire, and empower others. This knowing guides everything I do—how I move throughout my day, how I show up for myself, my businesses, my team, and my incredible clients.
Every day, there’s something at every corner that will show you one of two things: how impossible it all is, or just how possible it all is. The universal law of oneness means that everything is connected. When I see another woman living the life I desire or someone with the home I want, instead of feeling jealous or envious, I get inspired. That just means it’s meant for me too.
We live in an abundant world, but we’ve been programmed and conditioned to believe the opposite. The reason I win is simple: I believe I will. There are no limits that exist for you or me—only the ones we accept.
