Exploring Life & Business with Jeff Wheelwright of Wheelwright Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Wheelwright.

Hi Jeff, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in a very unconventional family. My grandfather was a Biochemist and Herbalist who traveled all over the world to research how various cultures used plants for healing. He later started an herbal supplement company. All of his children became involved in alternative medicine, including my father. My father decided to go a different route and became a chiropractor. Herbs, nutrition, chiropractic, energy work–these were all a normal part of my life growing up and it was natural for me to follow in their footsteps.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is a smooth road. I’ve been in business for about 30 years now and that has involved a lot of learning and a lot of changes in how I approach health and healing. I have made major changes in my practice many times over the years as I’ve worked to find the best approach to helping my patients achieve the health they are looking for. I finally feel like I have the tools and understanding to help anyone who comes to see me, regardless of their complaints. My philosophy is very simple now–less is better, we are just energy and information systems, and when balance is restored, we are perfectly capable of healing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The way I practice today is really a combination of everything I’ve learned over the past 30 years. My primary focus is in balancing what’s referred to as the Zones. Every cell in your body falls into one of six regulatory zones: the Glandular, Eliminative, Nervous, Digestive, Muscular, and Circulatory. Each of these zones is controlled by a different region of the brain. When correct information is coming from the brain, and all the cells are functioning correctly, then no symptoms (i.e. disease) are possible.

If, on the other hand, the brain is sending out bad or corrupted information then disease will result. This corruption of the brain centers occurs due to trauma: physical, chemical, emotional and spiritual. I specialize in rebalancing the zones and, when necessary, addressing the cause of the imbalance, the trauma.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I have many favorite childhood memories, and to be honest it would be difficult to pick a favorite one. However, one of those favorite memories is of my great grandmother, Grandma Treasure. She always had an ice-cream bucket full of homemade cookies on the top of her cupboards in the kitchen–always ready for a visit from her grandkids.
