Exploring Life & Business with Kimberly Sechser of Fired Up Seminars and Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Sechser.

Kimberly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
When I was a teenager, they had a speaker come to our school. As I sat there, I thought about how cool it would be to have such an effect on other people. They were just so inspiring. I wanted to change peoples’ lives like that!

Later, I decided to go into education and became a public school teacher. I enjoyed what I did but noticed the best times of the day for me were before school, lunch, or after school when students came in and talked to me about their lives, and I gave them tips or tools and shared things from my life.

A few years later I went to a Scout Leadership Camp called Woodbadge. There I was reminded again that I loved doing practical applications through fun and challenging activities. I realized I needed to make some changes.

I started doing YouTube videos that were inspirational and motivational. I realized if I wanted to be a speaker, I needed to start going to seminars and see how different people do things and get ideas. This led me to search for some Tony Robbins seminars. While searching, I found that he had a seminar where they did a firewalk at the end. I had never heard of firewalking, so I looked up firewalking on google.

I ended up finding a seminar through Joe White that not only did firewalking but offered a certificated program in firewalking. Besides firewalking, I learned how to facilitate glass walking, board and brick breaking, trust falls and arrow breaks, and more. I was pumped. I loved how we didn’t just sit and learn but experienced it through activities.

The next year, I took the level 1 and level 2 high ropes certifications through CLAS Ropes. I got a ton of more fun activities and challenges to use. Then it was just a matter of practicing and using them. Finally, I dived in and started doing seminars and team building for groups, and I have loved every minute. It is what lights the fire.

I love seeing people realize they are capable of more than they thought and that they are amazing, not despite who they are, but because of who they are!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were challenges getting started such as getting a website up and getting all the different materials that I would need to do the activities. Finally, the biggest challenge has been letting people know I exist.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Fired Up Seminars and Training?
Mission: Inspire and Empower

Vision: Inspire and empower individuals and organizations throughout the world through affordable and world-class training to act and become the best they can be.

Core Belief: God has given everyone the ability to reach their potential, and everyone should have the opportunity because their gifts will change the world!

We offer seminars, workshops, and training at the corporate level, for individuals, youth, and for religious organizations. We specialize in teaching skills and information in a way that is engaging, exciting, fun, and challenging to enhance learning and retention.

We are known for fun group activities, fostering creativity, and out-of-the-box and solution-based thinking. We don’t just speak to people or motivate them; we set them on a path of taking action during the event so that when they leave, they have already started doing something to get them where they want to go. This increases the chances that they will continue to take action and make improvements after the event.

Our Services include Corporate Events: Firewalking and teambuilding–including doing this in school settings for professional and leadership development. We tailor it to the needs of the organization, so whatever topics they want to be covered, we will do.

Youth events: religious events such as youth conferences, school groups such as student council, and homeschool groups such as co-ops. Individuals: seminars and workshops to help people learn about goals, communication, relationships, money, barriers holding people back, time management, etc. We also do family events like reunions, if people want to do team building and bonding within their family.

Later this year, we also offer a 3-day event that will help people whether in leadership positions, aspiring speakers, teachers, religious leaders, or just people wanting to be better presenters, to learn the skills to be more engaging and effective speakers. We will give people activities they can actually use in a variety of ways as well as give direct instruction and feedback.

They will have opportunities to practice these skills in a safe environment, so they can become more comfortable getting up in front of groups of people.

What are your plans for the future?
In the future, we will have a large retreat center with multiple conference rooms, so different events can go on at the same time. We will have many facilitators who specialize in different areas.

Outside, we will have a lake as well as a section dedicated to team-building activities. We will also have a high ropes course. In addition to these for the instruction, we will have an area for people doing multiday events to stay at overnight and opportunities for getting food on site.
