Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Brown.
Hi Lindsey , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to creating Move Morocco started with a deep love for travel, movement, and personal transformation—but it was also shaped by some of the hardest seasons of my life.
For many years I was doing what a lot of women do: pouring my energy into everyone else—family, responsibilities, expectations—while quietly losing touch with myself. I went through periods of betrayal, loneliness, anxiety, and moments where I truly questioned my worth and direction. But those painful experiences ended up becoming the very things that pushed me to search for deeper meaning.
During that time, movement became a lifeline. Running, biking, fitness, and being outdoors helped me reconnect to my strength and rebuild my confidence. Travel became another turning point. When I first visited Morocco, something shifted. The culture, color, energy, and depth of the country awakened something in me. I realized how powerful it can be to step outside your normal life and see the world—and yourself—differently.
What started as simply sharing my love of Morocco with friends slowly turned into something much bigger. People began asking me for travel advice, then help planning their trips, and eventually asking if they could come with me. That’s how Move Morocco was born.
Today, Move Morocco is more than a travel company. It’s a space where women can reconnect with themselves through adventure, culture, movement, and meaningful experiences. Our retreats bring together women who are often in transition—raising teenagers, becoming empty nesters, navigating divorce, or simply feeling the pull for something more.
Through travel, reflection, movement, and connection, they rediscover something powerful: their worth.
What began as my personal journey of healing has turned into a mission to help other women convert pain into purpose and remember that everything they need is already within them. And Morocco, with its beauty, resilience, and soul, just happens to be the perfect place for that transformation to unfold.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but the challenges were also what shaped the foundation of the work I do today.
In the beginning, the biggest struggle wasn’t logistics or even building the business—it was overcoming my own limiting beliefs. When you’re starting something new, your mind can quickly go to all the things that could go wrong: What if I fail? What if people don’t sign up? What if flights get delayed or plans fall apart? When you’re leading international trips, the list of “what ifs” can feel endless.
The real turning point for me was shifting my belief about where my worth was tied. For a long time, like many women, I subconsciously connected my worth to my effort and my outcomes—how well things worked, how successful something was, whether people approved. Once I began intentionally affirming that my worth is not connected to my efforts or outcomes, something changed. It gave me the freedom to move forward even when things felt uncertain.
Instead of trying to control every possible outcome, I focused on doing the work with integrity, care, and purpose—and trusting that the right people would find it.
That shift helped me hurdle the fear and step into leadership with more confidence. Ironically, the mindset work I had to do to build this business is the same message that now sits at the heart of our retreats: your worth isn’t something you earn through achievement or perfection—it’s something you remember.
Once that belief took root, everything else became possible.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Move Morocco?
Move Morocco is a travel and retreat company built around one core idea: travel can be a catalyst for personal transformation.
We specialize in curated experiences in Morocco that go far beyond traditional tourism. Our retreats and private trips combine cultural immersion, movement, reflection, and meaningful connection so travelers don’t just see Morocco—they experience it in a way that shifts perspective.
Our women’s retreats are designed especially for women who are in a season of transition. Many are raising teenagers, becoming empty nesters, navigating divorce, or simply realizing they’ve spent years taking care of everyone else and are ready to rediscover themselves. Through guided experiences—like hiking in the Atlas Mountains, exploring the souks of Marrakech, connecting with local culture, and daily movement and reflection—we create space for women to reconnect with their strength, purpose, and worth.
We also design private trips for travelers who want an authentic Moroccan experience but don’t want the stress of planning. Our itineraries focus on meaningful moments—visiting traditional villages, exploring ancient medinas like Fez, riding camels through the Sahara Desert, and staying in beautiful riads and desert camps.
What really sets Move Morocco apart is that the experiences are built around a deeper framework called the Raha Method, which focuses on reflection, movement, healing, and rising through life’s challenges. The goal isn’t just to create a beautiful vacation—it’s to help people reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the intention behind everything we do. Move Morocco isn’t about checking destinations off a list. It’s about creating experiences where women feel seen, supported, and inspired. Many arrive feeling uncertain, burned out, or disconnected, and leave with renewed confidence and a deeper understanding of their own worth.
At the heart of the brand is a simple message: you’re not here to chase your worth—you’re here to remember it. And sometimes stepping into a new place, culture, and adventure is exactly what helps you see that clearly.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
the next 5–10 years, I believe the travel industry will continue shifting away from traditional sightseeing trips toward experiences that are more meaningful, immersive, and personal.
We’re already seeing a major change in how people think about travel. Instead of simply asking “Where should I go?” travelers are asking “How do I want to feel?” There’s a growing desire for trips that offer connection, purpose, and personal growth. Industry research shows that experiential travel—things like cultural immersion, adventure, and meaningful local experiences—is becoming one of the dominant forces shaping tourism worldwide.
Another major shift is the rise of wellness and transformational travel. More people are choosing trips that help them reset mentally, emotionally, or physically rather than just relax by a pool. Wellness tourism alone is projected to reach more than $1.4 trillion globally within the next few years as travelers seek experiences that improve wellbeing and balance.
I also see travelers becoming much more intentional about where they go. There’s a growing interest in culturally rich destinations that feel authentic and less commercialized. Instead of rushing through multiple cities, many travelers now want to spend more time in one region and really connect with the people, traditions, and landscapes there.
For Move Morocco, this shift is exciting because it aligns perfectly with what we already do—slow, meaningful travel with depth.
Looking ahead, I plan to expand our experiences beyond Morocco into other culturally rich destinations that offer the same sense of depth and transformation. Places like Nepal—with its spiritual traditions, Himalayan landscapes, and trekking culture—are incredible environments for reflection, movement, and personal growth.
Ultimately, I think the future of travel will be less about checking destinations off a list and more about journeys that change people. Travelers will look for experiences that challenge them, inspire them, and help them reconnect with themselves—and that’s exactly the kind of travel I want to continue creating.
