Exploring Life & Business with Samantha Garcia of Sammies Glam Life, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Garcia.

Samantha Garcia

Hi Samantha, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. Before we ask about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Samantha, but my parents, family, and friends have called me Sammie for as long as I can remember. Around 2018, I became more active on social media. I began doing makeup lives, makeup reviews, & so many giveaways! I enjoyed what I did. I grew so much on Facebook during that period. After a few years, I decided to go to college to become a medical assistant; I received my associate’s in 2020. During my two years as a medical assistant, I stopped going live on Facebook and focused on what I thought I wanted to do for the rest of my life: in the medical field. I met so many wonderful patients and coworkers I love dearly! But during this time, my supervisor always told me she loved how I did makeup on myself and others; she always said I was in the wrong career. I did not believe it initially, but in 2022, I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl, Mia; she was a fantastic blessing. Because of her, I realized I wanted to be at home with her, watch her grow, and reach her first milestones. Working out in the field was something I wouldn’t be able to do. I could return to a job I had in 2017 when I had graduated high school, and thankfully, it was a work-from-home opportunity. After a year of working from home, I still felt something was missing; I was not where I was meant to be, so towards the end of September 2023, I decided to get my LLC & open my small business. It was the best time to return to what I have always loved.

Little did I know, during October 2023, my family & I realized something was not right with my baby Mia; she was starting to sleep more, became less active, would wake up in the morning, and 1 eye was always swollen, we took her to different eye providers, and they could never find the issue. Her eyes appeared perfect besides the swelling. I was given eye drops. After a week of the eyedrops, I noticed it was getting worse, and then both eyes got swollen. During this time, we noticed that her lips were getting pale. After keeping her pediatrician informed of what we kept seeing, we rushed her to the emergency room, where they rushed her to Primary Children’s Hospital because her blood count was meager.

On November 3rd, my daughter had her first blood transfusion. She was diagnosed with Iron Deficiency. We still do not know precisely what might’ve caused this; when Mia turned 1 year old, she had an iron test done, and she was perfect. We were advised to cut off dairy from her diet; we believe that had a significant factor because she loved anything and everything with dairy. After cutting her off from dairy, she was altogether a new toddler; she was back to being active, her goofy self, and finally able to start walking. Right now, being at home and working from home, I am blessed to be here with her. Her iron levels are perfect again, and I’ve been able to work at my 10 am-6:15 pm job and keep working on my small business. I am working hard for my daughter; a couple of months ago, we were told she was on the spectrum of Autism, and because of that, I keep motivating myself to work harder and harder for her. I want to be able to afford all the care she may need in the future; I want to provide the best schooling for her; if one day I am not physically here for her anymore, I want my small business to take care of her. I hope and pray I am here on this earth long enough for her to start her own business or continue mine if that is what she chooses.

I have had so many “Pierdas en el Camino,” meaning so many rocks in my journey, trying to keep my business going in hopes of one day leaving my full-time job and focusing on my business and my daughter. I’ve learned that giving up my dreams is not an option. My fur babies, my daughter, and my family need me. Everything I do is for them. My motivation to keep going is them.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It could have been a smoother road. Between my daughter’s blood transfusion, one of my fur babies, Canela, a Pitbull Mix, getting sick in November, medical bills, regular bills, and having to take time off work constantly for appointments. It’s been hard. I have to use all the obstacles thrown at me to motivate my daughter; I want her to see that giving up or letting yourself fall is not an option.

We’ve been impressed with Sammies Glam Life, LLC, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sammies Glam Life, LLC is the small business I started, and I still have it running from home. I have cosmetics, rhinestone tumblers, paw prints, and Rhinestone accessories. I am currently known as the “Bling” gal due to having rhinestone items, bling eyeshadow pallets, glitter pallets, bling mirrors, etc. Since I was a young girl, I have loved anything related to makeup; I love animals, especially dogs. I’m very proud of my Paw Rhinestone Tumblers because my dogs, Chiko and Canela, mean the world to me; I always want to include them in everything I have. It breaks my heart to see so many animals abandoned and dumped. One day, I want to be able to provide constant donations to animal shelters all around. All animal shelters deserve support. I currently donate through PetSmart when I shop for my 2 Pitties, but I know deep down inside I’m meant to do more for them. One day, I know I will. My small business is just starting, but I want to provide something for everyone eventually. I want to keep expanding and bring more animal items, children’s clothing, and men’s accessories. My small business is just starting, but I’m excited about the future.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that my city, Tremonton, is such a beautiful farm city. My neighbors have dogs, horses, cows, lambs, and many different animals, and I love seeing them daily. All the Tremonton people I have had the pleasure of meeting are amazing! If I had to say one negative thing about my small town, it is the mosquitoes! They are horrible! During the summer, I count at least 20-30 mosquitoes. My Canela also has terrible luck with them; she gets bitten all over, so I have to ensure that when we go out, we have mosquito spray all over our clothing to reduce the bites. We will get bitten, but only as much as with a repellent.
