Exploring Life & Business with Shawn Stubbs of Zion Glamping Adventures

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Stubbs.

Hi Shawn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started Zion Glamping Adventures with the idea of creating a peaceful place where people could enjoy nature without giving up comfort. It began as a small family project, and over time, it’s grown through a lot of hard work, love for the outdoors, and word of mouth from our amazing guests. We’ve always wanted to offer something that feels both adventurous and relaxing, and it’s been really rewarding to see people connect with the space in their own way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—like any small business, we’ve had our share of challenges. Weather, remote logistics, and the learning curve of running a hospitality business all tested us in the beginning. There were times when things didn’t go as planned, but each hurdle taught us something and helped us improve. What’s kept us going is our passion for the experience we’re creating and the incredible feedback from our guests—it makes it all worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Zion Glamping Adventures is a unique escape for those looking to experience the outdoors without sacrificing comfort. We offer luxury glamping tents with real beds, cozy setups, and stunning mountain views—all designed to help guests slow down, disconnect, and enjoy the beauty of southern Utah, located 45 minutes from Zion National Park.

What makes us different is the personal touch. We’re a small, locally-run business that takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From thoughtful amenities to exciting family-friendly excursions and stargazing nights, we focus on meaningful experiences that leave a lasting impression. This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to connect, recharge, and make unforgettable memories

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is the importance of adaptability. Things don’t always go as planned—especially when working in nature—but staying flexible and solution-focused has helped us grow through every challenge.

We’ve also learned that the little things matter. A kind gesture, a thoughtful detail, or simply being present for a guest can make all the difference. At the end of the day, it’s about creating real connections and making people feel cared for.
