Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Forsyth.
Hi Adrienne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We got tired of seeing all the fitness apparel companies charging insane amounts of money for clothing that really doesn’t cost that much, so we became determined to create a more wallet-friendly athletic apparel business that college students and gym goers can easily afford.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely a learning experience. One struggle is the mail services. We’ve had entire bulk orders go missing on their route to us and you have to learn to be persistent with manufacturers that aren’t always so willing to refund or help you make it right. Another big one is gaining the initial 1000 followers on our social media account. Without at least that many supporters, you lose credibility to new viewers and potential sales. Some companies buy their followers to look popular, but we are a homegrown company with a very active following!!
As you know, we’re big fans of Kaha Apparel LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a wallet-friendly, high-quality fitness apparel company. What sets us apart is mainly our prices. We buy from some of the same manufacturers as lulu lemon and charge less than half of what they charge for the same item. It’s pretty shocking sometimes to see how much people are willing to spend on a brand and not the physical product.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
We are a Maori-owned small business. The word “Kaha” has many meanings in our language, but a few examples would be strong, resilient, stubborn, and powerful!
