Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy + Makenna
Hi Amy + Makenna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I had the idea 8 years ago after I hd my first son. I wanted him to match his daddy and the onesie just didn’t look cute so I had to layer it with a shirt over it. Then in every picture his bare belly was out or a bright white onesie. Not to mention that a lot of boy clothing is covered in Dinosaurs and dump trucks, which don’t get me wrong I have a ton of. I just wanted something more elevated and simple. I saw something similar at baby gap and searched for months after that to find more and they just didn’t exist. So I started the journey to produce my own.
Then life got busy and set it aside. A few years later Makenna and I were talking about how we hate onesie’s and she really encouraged me to get it off the shelf. I agreed only if she did it with me and I’m so glad she did.
We went through so many different iterations, samples, back and forth trying to find the right manufacturing partners. Makenna nailed it with her persistence and dedication to the idea she stays up late taking with our partners to ensure each detail is just right.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh not at all. It’s been so much more than either of us expected. Little details that we didn’t even consider take so much time to decide on. Everything feels so serious and make or break because it has our name on it and we want to be proud of the products that people will put on their precious babies.
Finding a manufacturer was so difficult. We are boot strapping this business so finding someone we could trust to care about it as much as we did took so much time. The minimums that manufacturers require were a hard huddle to jump as well
We hit the streets in LA just walking into offices that would talk to us and climbing ladders in the garment district to find the perfect fabric.

Our brand is super unique and special. There is nothing like it in the market today and we believe it solves multiple problems for parents. What set’s us apart is the all in one feature of the onesie and the t-shirt. It functions like a onesie but has the elevated look of a t-shirt so even baby can look like a little man. It fashion meets function. We’ve used high quality materials because we want the very best for babies skin. All the material is hypo allergenic and durable because it’s bamboo which is a natural fabric.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We for sure need to do better at this. Right now we are mostly on Instagram and you can usually find us at local market on the weekends.
