Today we’d like to introduce you to Camille Walker.
Hi Camille, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m Camille Walker, a mom, entrepreneur, business coach, and storyteller. For the past 15 years, I’ve built businesses and created content centered around motherhood, family, entrepreneurship, and intentional living. I’m the owner of MyMommyStyle.com, a longtime resource for moms, and the co-host of 5 Minute Meditations for Kids, a podcast that gives families simple tools to find calm and build resilience.
I’m also the host of the Call Me CEO podcast, where I share the stories of women who are building businesses while navigating the realities of motherhood and life. I love giving women a platform to share their experiences because I believe there is so much power in hearing how other women are making entrepreneurship work alongside their families, relationships, personal goals, and everyday lives.
After spending years growing my own business while raising a family, I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to build something meaningful without allowing your business to take over your entire life. Today, I coach women in business and life balance, helping them create the clarity, systems, confidence, and intentional rhythms they need to build a business that supports the life they actually want.
At the heart of my work is the belief that women shouldn’t have to choose between being successful in business and being present for the people and things they love. I want to help women define success for themselves, share their stories, and create businesses—and lives—that feel truly aligned with who they are.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced throughout my entrepreneurial journey has been learning how to build a business while also raising four children at home. When I first started sharing content online, I was figuring out how to grow a business and an audience while being present for my kids and managing all of the demands that come with family life. There have been many seasons where I’ve had to learn how to balance being a mom, a business owner, and a person with goals and dreams of my own.
My entrepreneurial journey actually began during the crash of 2008, when I lost my job in the finance world. At the time, I never could have imagined that losing my job would lead me down an entirely different career path. I started MyMommyStyle.com as a way to share what I knew from my formal education in Family and Consumer Sciences, along with my experiences as a mom. What started as a way to create and share content eventually grew into a business and a platform where I could connect with other women and families.
Over the years, I learned that entrepreneurship requires constant adaptation. My business grew primarily through content creation, brand partnerships, and sponsorships, but when the pandemic hit, the landscape changed dramatically. I had to step back and rethink what I wanted my business to look like. Rather than continuing to rely primarily on sponsored content, I began shifting my focus toward coaching and podcasting.
That transition wasn’t always easy. Changing direction in your business can feel uncomfortable, especially when something you’ve built is already working. But I’ve learned that success isn’t necessarily about staying on the same path forever. It’s about being willing to recognize when your life, your priorities, or the world around you has changed and having the courage to evolve with it.
Today, my work has come full circle in many ways. Through my podcast, Call Me CEO, I get to share the stories of women who are building businesses while navigating motherhood and life. Through my coaching, I help women create businesses and systems that support the lives they actually want—not businesses that require them to sacrifice everything else. I am grateful that women have the opportunity to be able to create something that is more flexible so that you can push and pull back with the demands of family life.
My biggest lesson has been that balance isn’t something you achieve once and then maintain forever. It is something you continually redefine as your family, business, and life evolve. I’ve had to do that many times over the past 15 years, and those experiences are a huge part of why I now love helping other women navigate that same journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m the owner of MyMommyStyle.com, a platform I started after losing my job in the finance industry during the 2008 recession. With a background in Family and Consumer Sciences education and my own experience as a mom, I began sharing practical resources, ideas, and encouragement for families. Over the years, that platform grew into a successful content and influencer business, allowing me to work with brands and connect with a large community of mothers.
Today, I’ve expanded that work through my coaching and podcasting. I’m the host of Call Me CEO, where I interview women entrepreneurs and share the real stories behind their businesses—the pivots, challenges, successes, and lessons that often don’t make it onto social media. I’m also the co-host of 5 Minute Meditations for Kids, which reflects another important part of my work: helping families create more calm and connection in their everyday lives.
Through my coaching, I now work with women who want to grow their businesses without feeling like their business has to consume their entire lives. I help them create the systems, clarity, confidence, and boundaries they need to build a business that supports the life they want.
What sets my brand apart is that I don’t approach entrepreneurship from a “hustle harder” perspective. I’ve spent 15 years learning what it actually looks like to build a business while raising four children, adapting through major changes like the 2008 recession and the pandemic, and continually redefining what success and balance mean in different seasons of life. I’ve lived the lessons I’m now teaching.
I’m most proud of building a brand that has allowed me to evolve rather than stay stuck in one definition of success. My work has grown from a mom-focused website into content creation, brand partnerships, podcasting, and business coaching, but it has always remained rooted in helping women and families live more intentionally.
I want readers to know that my brand isn’t about having the perfect work-life balance. It’s about creating a life that feels like your own. I believe women can be ambitious, successful, and entrepreneurial while also being present for their families, protecting their well-being, and making space for the things that matter most. That’s the message I hope women take away from everything I create, whether they’re reading MyMommyStyle, listening to Call Me CEO, or working with me through coaching.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that has been most important to my success is my willingness to reinvent myself and “fall forward” as I grow. My journey has never been about getting everything perfect or following a perfectly mapped-out plan. It has been about being willing to learn, adapt, try something new, and keep moving forward—even when I don’t have all the answers.
Over the past 15 years, my business has changed dramatically as my family, the economy, technology, and my own goals have changed. I’ve learned that reinventing yourself isn’t a sign that something isn’t working; sometimes it’s exactly what growth requires.
What makes that journey especially meaningful to me is being able to help other women do the same. I love seeing a woman build something she’s genuinely proud of and, in the process, feel more like herself again. For many mothers, entrepreneurship isn’t just about making money. It’s about creating something that is theirs, contributing to their family’s financial well-being, using their talents, and having a sense of purpose outside of the many roles they carry.
If I can help a woman build a business that supports her family while also helping her feel more confident, fulfilled, and mentally like herself again, that’s the kind of success I’m most proud of. To me, success isn’t perfection. It’s having the courage to keep growing, reinventing, and falling forward into the next version of your life.
