Hidden Gems: Meet Chris Moore of Project Bild

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Moore.

Hi Chris, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As a pretty aimless young adult, a good friend recommended joining the plumbing trade. Not knowing what to expect, this industry grew to feel like home.

Going through a rigorous 4-year apprenticeship, which is working full time, and school at night, I was able to establish myself as a trusted industry professional and was able to call myself a “Journeyman Plumber”, a title and resume. Fast forward to today. being involved in the trades has blessed my life more than I ever thought possible. And am pleased to say I achieved THE goal of becoming a master plumber.

That is why some like-minded individuals and myself have started “Project Bild” We believe “Rebuilding the reputation of the trades is crucial to the growth of tomorrow. We dedicate ourselves to the support of current and future tradesmen by being the industry’s biggest ambassadors.”

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
While Project Bild’s mission will not be easy, the opportunities that lie in what we’re trying to do can and will bless so many.

Overcoming years of negative stereotypes and society’s view of construction workers and plumber jokes will be key in shifting the narrative and giving these careers the respect they deserve. We are encouraged by the positive feedback we have received from those who have seen our cause.

We’ve been impressed with Project Bild, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are Project Bild, an innovative initiative that aims to develop a skilled workforce in the trades. We are just starting out and can’t wait to show what we know we can do. We believe that investing in the future of the trade industry is essential for the growth and sustainability of our economy. Through educational programs, outreach initiatives, and sponsor partnerships, we strive to inspire the next generation of tradespeople and equip them with the skills they need to succeed in their chosen field.

Our goal is to raise awareness about the value and potential of careers in the trades and encourage more young people to pursue these paths. Whether you are a student, a company, or a trades professional, Project Bild has something to offer. We are reintroducing these careers in exciting ways, and are taking on the role of “industry ambassador”. I believe what makes Project Bild unique is that we are tradesmen ourselves and can speak from genuine and qualified experiences. I know firsthand that these opportunities are real, and am passionate about inspiring others to take advantage.

Our goal is to work with top-tier companies in order to inform and help place prospective employees into the very best of situations; where they will be given every opportunity to grow their successful careers. We will continue to support all those working in the trades and be a resource and advocate for them. Without qualified tradesmen and the critical work they do, life as we know it would look extremely different. We take for granted the modern miracles, for example, indoor plumbing and electricity, even the servers powering the internet need to be climate controlled through complicated HVAC systems and mechanical rooms.

Even the oxygen that “comes out of the walls” at hospitals was made possible by plumbers with specialized licenses using skills that cannot be learned on YouTube. If we can learn to respect these essential careers and the people who do these impossible tasks then we believe more will want to go into these professions which would benefit everyone. We understand these jobs are not for everyone, but making college seem like the only viable option for so many years is unfair to those who weren’t given another option, or felt like it was either college or minimum wage.

That’s where we come in. We are Project Bild and we need “U”.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having the willingness to be vocal about the opportunities to be found in the trades. I am proud to be CEO of Project Bild and also proud to be a Master Plumber. I believe where I am in my career allows me to confidently speak on these issues, and makes me uniquely qualified for this position.

Before we formed Project Bild, Through our time working in the industry, we developed skills and a work ethic that make us the perfect ambassadors for the trades. We know how to work hard, work efficiently, and are willing to do the things no one wants to do.
