Hidden Gems: Meet Christine Lac of HRIWT LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Lac.

Hi Christine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As the CEO and a Consultant at HRIST, I specialize in optimizing the human element of business. I provide expert guidance on performance management and employment relations, ensuring that every professional connection within your organization is productive and compliant.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t always been smooth; the initial challenge of securing a client base in a competitive market was a significant hurdle and still can be. However, the journey has been incredibly rewarding. Every client I’ve partnered with has opened doors to new industries and global perspectives—including wonderful collaborations in Canada. I’ve found my stride in the ‘deep end,’ diving into complex organizational problems and delivering immediate, impactful solutions.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At HRIST, we specialize in transforming HR from a reactive department into a streamlined, strategic engine. While we are deeply rooted in the complexities of Automotive, Manufacturing, and Software, our true expertise lies in navigating ambiguity. We take the ‘chaos’ of rapid growth or outdated systems and replace it with high-functioning HR workflows—from sophisticated onboarding and offboarding protocols to custom leave-of-absence templates and accrual projects.

What sets us apart is our commitment to being a partner, not just a firefighter. We are known for our ability to step into disorganized environments and build the structures that allow leadership to focus on the future, rather than the daily crisis.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I absolutely loved the energy of the ‘Silicon Slopes.’ There is a unique intersection of high-level innovation and outdoor grit there. Being able to work on complex software or manufacturing projects in the morning and then be on the slopes snowboarding by the afternoon isn’t just a hobby—it’s a lifestyle that fosters incredible creativity and drive.” Plus I love the Salt Lake City airport!

If I had to pick something, it would be the ‘Inversion’—not just the weather, but the seasonal pace. During those winter months, the valley can feel a bit enclosed, and the city’s rhythm gets very centered around the mountains. It’s beautiful, but sometimes you miss that open, year-round ‘city hustle and bustle’ you find in other metropolitan hubs. Nothing like the mountains though!
