Hidden Gems: Meet Dr. Julie De Azevedo Hanks of Wasatch Family Therapy, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Julie De Azevedo Hanks

Hi Dr. Julie de Azevedo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2002, I started a solo private therapy practice. Even though it was just me at the time, I had a vision of bringing together like-minded therapists to build a group practice. With that vision in mind, I named it Wasatch Family Therapy. As my caseload grew and I could no longer take new clients, I hired one therapist, then another… and the practice continued to expand.

Today, I own three clinics—Lehi, Farmington, and Sandy—with a team of 30 dedicated therapists. Over the years, Wasatch Family Therapy has become a trusted name in mental health care in Utah, known for our exceptional clinical work and deep commitment to serving our communities.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to business success has mostly been smooth with a few bumps along the way. Therapists aren’t required to take business classes so I learned on the job about how to run a therapy practice. I learned that the key to success is hiring great clinicians and staff.

As you know, we’re big fans of Wasatch Family Therapy, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
