Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Roxburgh
Hi Heather, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Hurricane, Utah, a small town with a close-knit community and an emphasis on hard work and resilience. From a young age, I knew the value of dedication and determination, and these values have been my guiding light throughout my career.
In January 2006, I took a leap of faith and got my real estate license. At the time, I was working full-time as a Crime Victim Advocate at the Midvale Police Department and raising three daughters. When choosing a brokerage, I wanted to align myself with successful, driven professionals, and RE/MAX was my first choice. Known for its high standards and top-producing agents, RE/MAX typically didn’t hire new agents, but after several meetings and a lot of convincing, I was granted an opportunity to join the company, on one condition. I had until the end of May to quit my job at the police department and fully commit to real estate. It was a huge risk because I had to have a steady paycheck. But I was determined to make it work.
My brokers were too busy to provide any training, so I invested in a training program called 100 Days to Greatness. It was a significant financial commitment at the time, but I dove into it with everything I had, following every step. By the first of May, I had saved enough money to go into real estate full-time.
By the end of my first year, I was one of the top agents in my office. My business was growing fast, and I began to realize that real estate could be more than just a job, it could be a fulfilling career, and a way to make a positive impact on people’s lives. Recognizing the need for guidance, I hired my first real estate coach, marking the start of a lifelong commitment to learning and growing.
In 2008, the market started to shift, many agents began to struggle, but I was too focused on my work to notice the downturn. I continued with the fundamentals that had worked for me from day one: intentionality, consistency, and a commitment to client relationships. As the years unfolded, I watched agents leave the industry. But through my coaching, I had learned to persevere through any market and to see challenges as opportunities to double down on the basics and grow my business.
Over time, I invested in creative marketing, developed systems to support my growing business, and prioritized relationships with clients. This commitment to client care became a core value of my business, and today, I’m proud to lead a real estate team that serves clients like family. Each person we work with receives personalized attention, creative marketing, and meaningful support. I believe that business is about much more than transactions, it’s about connecting with people, understanding their goals, and working tirelessly to help them achieve their dreams.
Reflecting on my journey, I’ve come to understand that resilience and growth don’t happen by accident. They require intention, daily effort, and a willingness to learn. I am grateful for every risk, every challenge, and every connection I’ve made along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but smooth! Early in my career, I was told I wasn’t experienced enough for certain opportunities, but I’ve always refused to let others define my limits. I took that as fuel to find creative solutions, proving not only to others but to myself that I could achieve what I set my mind to. When I transitioned into real estate, I was stepping into completely unknown territory, which was daunting. I had to learn fast, stay disciplined, and work harder than I ever had before. The fear was real, leaving a secure job for a career where I had no guarantees was terrifying. But I focused on my purpose, took things one step at a time, and reminded myself that growth only comes from stepping out of your comfort zone.
The market itself presented its own set of challenges, especially during the Great Recession. While many agents struggled to stay afloat or left the business altogether, I leaned into the basics: building genuine relationships, staying consistent, and constantly seeking to improve. I didn’t have years of experience, but I had an unshakeable work ethic and a commitment to showing up, day after day.
These challenges ultimately taught me that the journey is as much about mindset as it is about skill. I learned that resilience is built in those tough moments when you decide to keep going, to keep learning, and to keep believing in yourself. The setbacks became stepping stones, each one reinforcing my determination to build a business that could weather any storm. Through every struggle, I’ve grown stronger, more intentional, and more focused on providing exceptional service to my clients. I believe that if you have purpose and are willing to push past the hard moments, you can overcome anything.
We’ve been impressed with The Roxburgh Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Roxburgh Group is best known for our personalized approach and commitment to exceptional real estate service. We don’t just help clients buy or sell homes; we guide them through one of the most emotional and significant moments of their lives. My team and I are passionate about treating every client like family, offering creative marketing, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering support throughout the process.
What truly sets us apart is our dedication to relationships. We believe that real estate is about people first, and we work hard to understand our clients’ unique goals and needs. Over the years, we’ve been honored with awards like the Salt Lake Board of Realtors’ Small Sales Team of the Year, but the real reward is seeing our clients happy and confident as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
Beyond real estate, I am deeply involved in our community raising funds for local kids and families in need. I’m committed to giving back through initiatives that make a lasting impact.
In addition to helping clients, I also love mentoring other agents. Sharing what I’ve learned and watching others succeed is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work. For me, success is about making a positive impact on my clients, my team, and the community I care so much about.
What are your plans for the future?
Growing my real estate team is a top priority. While the market may shift, our client-centered approach remains timeless. Real estate is about building relationships, and I am committed to creating a business where every client feels like family. By focusing on a supportive and personalized experience, I believe we can continue to grow and succeed together.
Mentorship is another key focus for the future. I know how daunting it can be to navigate the early stages of a real estate career or to reignite passion in a business that feels stagnant. Supporting agents at all stages, whether they’re just starting or seeking new ways to thrive, has become one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. Through speaking engagements, webinars, and workshops, I aim to share insights and inspire agents to reach their full potential. My goal is to show that, with the right tools and mindset, success in real estate is within reach.
I’m also passionate about growing Bee Epic Marketing, my marketing company designed to help agents stand out in a very competitive industry. Through Bee Epic, I provide agents with personalized, innovative marketing strategies tailored to their businesses. As the digital landscape evolves, Bee Epic will remain focused on equipping agents with creative marketing content and strategies.
Giving back has always been essential to my journey. Supporting children in our community, especially through fundraising for children’s charities and local organizations, is a cause close to my heart. I’m proud of the partnerships we’ve built and the opportunities we’ve created for clients, colleagues, and friends to make a meaningful difference in the lives of kids in need.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to grow in every area, strengthening relationships, supporting others, and leaving a positive impact on the communities I serve.
