Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Alatorre.
Hi Ricardo, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After a family tragedy at the age of 20, I moved to Utah with my mother and younger brother, and a few months later I started my journey as a Detailer working for a local dealership.
Due to my passion for cars and my attention to detail I soon claimed to be the detail department manager until the recession of 2008 impacted the car industry and the local dealer decided to close its doors at the end of 2009. A few weeks after the owner of the dealer talked to me about keeping me as one of his best workers on a different location and it wasn’t until 2013 that a left that dealership to start my journey as a business owner.
I started my detailing business with my wife’s SUV and a trailer that I was able to afford whit little saving that we had, and after spending all my savings, with all my hope and lots of dreams I started detailing for small dealers that know me from the area, hard work soon was noticed by others and I was offered to move to a small shop next to a local dealer that wanted me to exclusively detail for and I did it for near tow years until that little shop wasn’t enough to handle all the work that I was getting, we moved few more times after that growing every year until we moved to our current shop.
During all of those years before moving to my current shop, I meet great people that have been an amazing help to me and that have helped me understand the business side of the business. 2019 was a great year for us since it was the year when we transitioned from being another detailing shop in town to a specialist detailing shop in our local market. 2019 I trained with one of the best in the industry and I started to see value in getting educated.
As of today, I can say that I am a professional Detailer, certified by the international detailing association and skill validated, rocky of the year in 2021, made a member of the detailing mafia group, certified by the detailing success academy, and part of the p&s detailing team at the Quail car show in Carmel California and McCalls Motor Works Revival in 2021, and more to achieve and accomplish.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Lots of struggles and challenges, the first challenge was being an immigrant from Mexico and having to learn the language, starting a business without the knowledge of running a business was a big one, starting from the ground with $00 money was a challenge.

I believe that luck is something that we control and I have always been optimistic about everything that I do and that the sun it’s always bright on the other side.
With this, I don’t mean that I haven’t had bad moments or times, but for every problem, there is a solution.
