Hidden Gems: Meet Sandra Wogerman of Lashifeyed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Wogerman.

Hi Sandra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I had always worked an office of 9 to 5 job, I didn’t go to college after high school and got married at the age of 19. I had kids quickly after my marriage, therefore, needing the stability and income the corporate world brought to help support our family.

I felt unfulfilled and always dreamt about owning my own business. In 2008, I went and had my lash extensions done for the first time and fell in love with them!

In 2008, Lash Extensions were a newer beauty service, and finding places/people that did them was not very easy. I, then decided I wanted to try my hand at extensions and researched when and where to get educated, so I could get started in offering Lash extensions myself.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The beauty industry in general is a difficult road. There are so many different types of clients and it was very difficult to stand up for myself starting out and not bend and break to appease clients and their demands. Building a clientele took years and lots of hours and time away from my family.

After seven years of being my own one-woman show, I decided I wanted to open a lash salon and spa. I wanted to help other artists build their clientele, perfect their craft and be there to give them guidance and the help I wish I would have had. Having other lash artists join me in this venture has brought many different challenges. I have had artists that join my team that I have coached right out of Beauty school and helped perfect their craft, as well as built their clientele for them. There have been artists that have been hard working, motivated and appreciate so much; Such amazing women and team players! Then I have had the polar opposite of artists that do everything they can to tear down something they did not build; They did not succeed… My motto has always been if your long-term goal in the beauty business is to have your own business and build your own empire the way you want it built, then get to your grind right away! There’s no reason to use someone else if you feel you have the power to do it on your own, Go get it!

We’ve been impressed with Lashifeyed LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Lashifeyed LLC to offer the public quality lash and skin care services and create an amazing team of artists that have each other’s backs and offer the best to our clients. We are not a stick-and-pick type of lash lounge and spa. We customize our services to each client’s eye shape, skin type, and preference, no matter how long it takes.

Unlike other lash lounges and spas, We do NOT require our artists to complete services in a “set” time. Every artist’s service time is customized to what the artist prefers to complete the best for the client, you can’t rush perfection! Every artist at Lashifeyed has received guidance and coaching and done voluntary shadowing of senior lash artists in order to perfect their skills and offer the best to our clients. In doing this, it has made it so if one specific Lashifeyed artist is not available and a client goes to another Lashifeyed artist they get the same quality services no matter what artist they see.

We are all considered a team at Lashifeyed… We help one another and support one another 24/7. There is nothing off-limits that my team cannot come to me with; good, bad, or ugly. I am very protective of my team and when we get “those” clients that belittle and slander any team member, I’m the first to go to bat. (Just read our google reviews). I’ve made sure to make each one of my team members feel appreciated and valued at Lashifeyed LLC.

When you have a team of women that feel valued and fulfilled, they enjoy what they do and give clients an amazing service that keeps them coming back; that’s all I ever hoped for in this Dream of mine.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
For me, you have to be positive and you have to be determined! There are so many people out there that try to bring you down and break you. You have got to keep a positive outlook and see the glass half full always! Crap will always happen and difficulties arise, but if you have a positive mindset nothing seems impossible.

You also have to be determined! There are millions of women in the beauty industry doing what I do. I’ve lost, been told no, used, stolen from, and I have not let any of it stop me. I get up, dust off, and push forward every single time; determined to overcome and come out on top!
