Today we’d like to introduce you to Alesha Nielsen.
Hi Alesha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I own a small med spa of 17 years. I just recently relocated to Logan and I’m in my first year up here after being in Layton, Utah all the other years. I was a single mom of three children and Sultry Skin was my soul income. I had experience in a human resources, Prior and an accounting job so I took the things that I learned from those other times of my life and applied them to a business. While growing sultry skin I continued to work through many years of hard things. I continued to do a lot of research and long hours. I showed up every single day, never quit. I knew I had my kids watching me and depending on me.
I have finally hit some huge milestones in business. I was able to invest in my dream lasers through candela medical, renovate a new spot and have the opportunity to start over again in a new location.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Many obstacles along the way. Dealing with a husband who was suffering a work related accident, then shortly became an addict over the years w out me really knowing till it was too late. Time, time was most definitely my biggest challenge. I never had enough time in a day. I would take the kids to school, go to work, pick the kids back up, take them home and go back to work. Some of those days I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it.
I wasn’t able to get any funding, finding myself using my tax returns one year to get some things to start up. Slowly paid cash for the biz through many of the years. It was so hard and I don’t recommend that unless you have no other way. I didn’t even have a credit card, it was all cash paid. Crazy.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer everything from facials, chemical peels to peptides, hrt, lasers, injections and more. I love this business.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I grew up second oldest of 7. Military family, we have traveled, moved all over the us.
My fav memories are all of us traveling together back home to Utah to visit family.
Listening to any and all the music, singing and having fun in the car.
I lost my mom 3 years ago and it’s been the hardest grief ever. She’s was an amazing mother and I miss her terribly.
She made the best cinnamon rolls ever!!
