Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Castaneda.
Hi Angela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Hello, my name is Angela Castaneda, I started Angels Cleaning eight years ago, this idea was born in a difficult time of my life when I was in an abusive relationship. I worked at a company in Florida and saw how the owners ran their business and that inspired me to start my own when I moved to Utah.
With no money I started posting free ads on Facebook and Craigslist at that time… slowly things picked up and I started making really good connections, I must say it was not easy, me and my mom were working 10 hours a day the first years… it’s been 8 years of this commitment and I am very blessed to continue to grow it.
We focus a lot now on buildings and work with a lot of property management companies. I am currently employing 8 people, and proudly have a vision to be one of the services in Utah.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Staring my business from scratch out of a survival need and being able to grow it has been challenging, but it has also created expansion.
I had to take many business lessons and learned the hard way to lose money also… I think the most challenging part has been learning how to hire and delegate.
As you know, we’re big fans of Angels Cleaning Utah. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a business focused on the property management industry, we help properties strive by keeping their common areas clean and we also do their apartment move-in/move-out.
We have unique training that excels among other businesses. I’m the other hand, we are providing jobs, and have helped many immigrants and single mothers feel valuable. We are not just a cleaning company, our vision is to grow and help our community become better.
Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Excellent work ethic, word of mouth still up to this day is the best.
