Inspiring Conversations with Baylee Dunn of Skin With Bay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Baylee Dunn.

Baylee Dunn

Hi Baylee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
After years of trying to find the right college degree, working temporary jobs, and experiencing the beauty industry as a client, I decided it was time to do something I truly care about. I attended Acaydia Spa and School of Aesthetics in Provo, Utah, where I fell even more in love with cell science and skin care.

I graduated in April of 2022 with my license in Master Esthetics. After working for local spas, I realized there isn’t any real focus on clinical yet affordable skin care services and products. Living in a blue-collar city, I wanted to do something about that. My focus is to provide services, products, and honest advice on how to treat several skin concerns, regardless of client budgets and past experiences.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Deciding to start my own business was not my first choice. It’s difficult to run a small business alone – I am marketing, customer service, inventory, interior designer, and face of the business.

There were times working for spas where it was obvious that the focus is mainly on revenue. Being passionate about an industry that people put their trust in made me realize I want to be not only a good provider but a sensible one.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in affordable, simple, effective skincare. The skincare lines I sell are easy to understand and also affordable.

My clients get specialized treatment based on their concerns, needs, and budget. I understand skincare is often overlooked due to pricing, downtime, etc, yet is still very important to most people. I try to find the balance between treating issues while still taking price and lifestyles into account.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I often run giveaways with local companies, to grow everyone’s following and clientele. I believe local and social media support is more important than any other type of marketing.

Sharing posts, referring friends and family, and consistency are the most valuable. Out-of-state or long-distance clients still purchase products with me through virtual consultations and suggestions.
