Hi Caitlin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Tan to Go one year ago! I was looking for something I could create myself. I have always known I wanted to own my own business. When I learned about the spray tanning community it was one of those moments in life where you know this was made for you. I love working with people and helping them feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.
Starting a business can be scary but even from day one I felt an unstoppable energy driving me to create something amazing.
It’s crazy to me to see what my business has grown to in just under a year! The challenges and success in the journey has been so fun to go through.
I am determined to make Tan to Go a brand people know and love! I want those I surround myself with to know that when they come to Tan to Go they are loved and supported in all things!
It’s through that love and care that I attribute the fast growth and success! I know when you treat others with genuine joy and love it comes back to you ten fold!
At first when I started I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to grow my company and become successful for many years, but I pushed that fear aside and put all my energy into meeting people and letting them know what I do. It was when I stopped leading with fear and started leading with courage that I saw the biggest growth!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road to get to where I am! First starting I didn’t have any friends or any clients. I had no idea how to gain the trust of those I was meeting because I felt like I didn’t even know the half of what I was talking about! But with practice and self love I realized I was REALLY GOOD at this! I had a natural talent and it was something I needed to share with others.
I have always been great at talking with people and meeting strangers. Though when I started I felt like I had lost that talent. I was paralyzed with fear on how do I even bring up the subject of spray tanning. How do I even approach someone. I sat dormant for a long time. There was days, weeks, even a month where I didn’t spray a single person. I was so stressed and worried that I wasn’t good enough.
Then I decided I needed to take action. I couldn’t just sit there and hope clients would come my way. I got out of my shell and started opening my mouth.

I care about what I put on my skin and I want my clients to know I care about what goes on their skin as well!
Most of the solutions I carry are also sweat resistant because I want only the best for my clients. I want their tan to last as long as possible and to hold up against the test of time!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a very active child. I had energy pouring out of me. Everywhere I went I would talk to everyone I met. My parents say I have never met a stranger just a friend I didn’t know yet. I was never shy I would talk to anyone that would listen, even the big burly biker guys at gas stations. I never had fear of talking to someone.
I was also a very creative child. I loved making art and listening to music. I would spend all my time outdoors running wild without a care in the world.
Most of my time was spent at my elderly neighbors house in his garden or on the trampoline. I was a wild redheaded little girl who the world was not ready for!
