Today we’d like to introduce you to Deborah Athay.
Hi Deborah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I am originally from Vancouver, Washington, and was raised in a family who cherished and collected Antique items. After spending a decade in the corporate world, I recently decided to change my field of work and decided to focus on this aspect of my lifelong passion for connecting.
Complaining the sales experience I had gained from working in corporate sales with the knowledge I had been raised with, I look forward to being in the retail, vintage, and antique business!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Certain things are smoother than others!
The people in this industry are wonderful, and it has been delightful making friends and acquaintances along the way. It is challenging to find good items that are old, interesting, and in good condition to offer my customers- but I look forward to that challenge.

ElegantEra Vintage is Pleasant Grove’s newest vintage and antique store! We’re excited to bring 15 vendors worth of offerings to the general public.
Our product lines range from Victorian artifacts to mid-century modern furniture, curated vintage clothing, and also select artisan-made local goods. When groups of friends or family members come shopping together, everyone will find something to be delighted by.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The biggest role of luck so far has been being able to find wonderful things to offer my customers.
Sometimes it’s vintage crockery, real gold jewelry, or even that rare piece of Jadeite. Believe it or not, I’ve found exponentially more gold than jadeite! (Jadeite is a popular green milk glass).
