Hi Frankie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My nail journey started when I got my nail tech license in 2018. I worked at multiple salons before I decided I wanted to start my own small business in September of 2020. I now rent my own beauty salon suite in Indie Studio Suites in Bountiful.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I have gone through a lot of challenges with finding the right place for me to work and in the end, I found it was best to run my own salon. Some other obstacles I ran into were learning my specific preferences on what products I use, how much time to give myself and how to charge my worth. These things take time and are specific to each individual.
We’ve been impressed with Nautical Nails, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in hard gel nails and gel nail art. My service includes removing previous products, prepping the nails, cuticle care, product application and optional nail art. I also offer hard gel extensions for anyone looking to extend their nails. I take pride in my work and make sure every set I do makes my client happy. I am constantly learning, practicing and improving my skills. My favorite part of the process is definitely getting to do hand-painted nail art. I love a challenge but I also love doing simple or abstract designs. My main goal is to keep your nails happy, healthy and beautiful.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising most people don’t know about me is that before nail school I had never had acrylics and I didn’t even know that gel existed.
