Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Willard.
Hi Holly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Grandview For Good was founded from a simple but powerful belief: no one should have to navigate grief, trauma, or life’s hardest moments alone because they can’t afford support.
What began as a vision to remove financial barriers to mental health care has grown into a nonprofit that provides therapy scholarships, free grief and trauma therapy groups, Feelings Kits for children, community education, and healing-centered programs for individuals and families across our community.
Along the way, we’ve partnered with schools, community organizations, and local businesses to reach thousands of children, parents, and caregivers with meaningful mental health resources. Every program has been built around the same mission—to make healing accessible, compassionate, and available when people need it most.
Today, Grandview For Good continues to expand its impact by increasing access to therapy, creating innovative community programs, and ensuring that financial hardship is never the reason someone goes without the support they deserve. While we’ve grown tremendously, our purpose remains the same: helping people find hope, healing, and connection through accessible mental health care.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many nonprofits, one of our biggest challenges has been balancing a growing community need with limited funding and resources. The demand for affordable mental health services continues to rise, especially for children and families experiencing grief and trauma, while the cost of providing high-quality therapeutic care also continues to increase.
Another challenge has been raising awareness. Many people don’t realize that therapy scholarships, free support groups, and preventative mental health programs exist, or that they’re available to those who need them most. Building trust within the community and helping people understand that it’s okay to ask for help has taken time and intentional effort.
Despite these challenges, each obstacle has reinforced why our work matters. We’ve been fortunate to partner with generous donors, volunteers, therapists, schools, and community organizations who believe that healing should be accessible to everyone. Their support has allowed us to continue growing our programs and reach more individuals and families every year.
The journey hasn’t been easy, but every family served, every child who gains healthy coping skills, and every person who finds hope through our programs reminds us that the work is worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Grandview For Good is a nonprofit organization based in Northern Utah dedicated to making mental health care more accessible for individuals and families facing grief, trauma, and other life challenges. We believe that healing shouldn’t depend on someone’s ability to pay, which is why we provide therapy scholarships, free support groups, community education, and therapeutic resources designed to meet people where they are.
We are especially known for our work supporting children and families through grief and trauma. Our programs include no-cost therapy groups, therapist-designed Feelings Kits that help children identify and express emotions, community workshops, and partnerships with schools and local organizations to expand access to mental health support.
What sets us apart is our focus on removing barriers to care while providing evidence-based, compassionate services. We don’t simply offer resources—we create opportunities for lasting healing. Every program is developed by licensed mental health professionals and built around the belief that every person deserves access to quality care, regardless of financial circumstances.
As a nonprofit, we’re most proud of creating a community where hope, connection, and healing come first. We’ve built a reputation for meeting families with empathy, dignity, and practical support during some of life’s most difficult moments. Whether it’s helping a child process the loss of a loved one, providing a scholarship that makes therapy possible, or equipping caregivers with tools to support emotional wellness at home, our goal is always the same: to ensure no one has to face life’s hardest moments alone.
We want readers to know that Grandview For Good is more than a nonprofit—we’re a safe space committed to making mental health care accessible, reducing stigma around seeking help, and creating pathways to healing for generations to come.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
we define success by the lives we impact, not just the numbers we report. While we’re grateful for every dollar raised, scholarship awarded, or community partnership formed, our greatest measure of success is seeing someone find hope, healing, and connection when they need it most.
Success looks like a child learning healthy ways to express their emotions, a family finding support after the loss of a loved one, or an individual receiving therapy they otherwise couldn’t afford. It also means creating a community where conversations about mental health are welcomed, stigma is reduced, and asking for help is seen as a sign of strength.
Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that financial barriers never prevent someone from accessing quality mental health care. If our work helps even one person feel less alone and more supported on their healing journey, we know we’re fulfilling our mission.
