Inspiring Conversations with Ida May Grant of Rebel Rose Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ida May Grant.

Hi Ida May, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been in the marketing industry for over 10 years. I started my career as a copywriter for a software company, then expanded into all areas of marketing – working in industries like mortgage, professional education, and construction. Along the way, I’ve also done freelance work supporting small businesses. Over the years, I’ve developed strong skills across the marketing spectrum from copywriting and graphic design to SEO and campaign analytics. I’m a driven person who’s built a unique and versatile skill set that can help any business grow and succeed.

This year, with some encouragement from my very supportive husband, I decided to start my own marketing agency. I wanted to take my experience and channel it into something more independent and meaningful. Balancing a family while building a business hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. I get to spend my days with the two lights of my life, my little boys, and show them what it looks like to chase your dreams.

I also have the privilege of caring for my 90-year-old father, who lives with us. He was diagnosed with cancer three years ago, but you’d never know it by looking at him – he’s still one of the happiest, most generous people I know. Having my boys grow up alongside him is such a gift.

The mission of my agency is to help small businesses thrive. I work with business owners who want to grow their digital presence but don’t necessarily have the time or resources to manage it themselves. By keeping my prices reasonable, I make sure each client gets high-quality marketing support that fits their budget and helps their business reach new levels of success.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a new business while raising a family definitely isn’t easy. It takes a lot of time management, strategy, and flexibility. I’m constantly juggling nap schedules, client calls, school drop-offs, and strategy sessions. Some days it’s chaos, some days it’s magic but every single day, it’s worth it.

Being able to raise my boys myself while also pursuing my dreams is its own reward. They say it takes a village, and they’re absolutely right. I’m so grateful for my incredibly supportive husband and family, they make it all possible. Even my father, who is terminally ill, plays an important role in our little village. His strength and positivity inspire me daily.

Everyone faces challenges, especially when chasing new dreams, but having such a strong support system has made all the difference.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rebel Rose Marketing?
I own and run a marketing agency that specializes in helping small businesses grow. So many small businesses struggled during the pandemic, and now that the dust has finally settled, the ones that made it through are ready to rebuild and thrive. That’s where I come in, I want to be part of their comeback story.

I’ve built my agency around accessibility and trust. I keep my prices reasonable because I believe every small business deserves the chance to grow, regardless of their budget. And in return, I give them my full dedication and heart. Watching their success become our shared success is what fuels me every day.

What I’m most proud of, though, is that throughout my years in the corporate world, I never lost my sense of kindness. It’s easy to get caught up in competition or ego, but I’ve learned that leading with kindness and integrity always takes you farther. At the end of the day, that’s the kind of business, and life, I want to build.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I consider myself incredibly lucky. I’ve had the opportunity to work for some amazing companies over the years, each one teaching me valuable lessons and giving me the experience and skills I rely on every single day.

I’m also blessed with an incredibly supportive husband who’s been my quiet cheerleader behind the scenes as I build my dream. And then, of course, my two little boys – my biggest inspiration and greatest joy.

At the end of the day, I feel lucky not just for the career I’ve built, but for the life I get to live as a wife, a mother, and a woman chasing her dreams with her family by her side.
