Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaden Wright.
Hi Jaden, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I first heard of esthetics when I was fourteen years old from a good family friend. After looking into it and following estheticians on Instagram, I fell in love with the idea of helping transform others’ skin and helping them love the skin that they’re in. Skin can negatively impact someone’s self-perception which is heartbreaking. I wanted to help others beat any negative voice in their head saying, “they aren’t beautiful.” Before attending esthetics school, I became a certified makeup artist in Ohio, where I am from, and then worked many freelance makeup jobs before and during school—which I still do to this day! I am a special event makeup artist specializing in weddings and other portrait makeup. I love the excitement of weddings and helping brides amazing on their big day. This only solidified my desire to become an esthetician, because I wanted to help women feel confident in their natural beauty and skin which they wear every day!
I went to Aveda Institute in Provo, UT in May of 2019 to become a licensed master esthetician. In May of 2020, I graduated and began working at a med-spa/medical office. I worked there for over a year, then opened my esthetics practice in July of 2021 in Orem, Utah. It has been an amazing and the perfect switch for me! It allowed the experience I have with my clients to be more intimate and personalized to their needs. I love my job, my clients, my office space, and everything about esthetics. There is nothing better than watching my clients’ confidence blossom through taking proper care of their skin and seeing progress towards their skin goals.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With any job, there are stressors and struggles. Esthetics is highly competitive, and it’s especially hard when first starting. Esthetics school is the jumping board, after school, there is so much more to learn about whatever you’d like to specialize in. Building a clientele also takes time! After almost a year and a half, I left the med spa I worked at right out of school to go solo. This brought a whole new set of challenges and a great reward! The biggest challenge was that it was left to me to market my business to grow. However, my clients loved the new environment, the new skincare lines, their results, and their overall experience in my suite which has helped to spread the word and increase referrals. Because of this, I’ve been able to grow my clientele quickly which I am beyond grateful for.
Although it was a huge investment, it was the best investment. There were a lot of difficult decisions to make when deciding to “go solo” and at times it was scary. However, taking this leap of faith and getting out of my comfort zone has blessed me in many different ways by allowing me to see what I am capable of doing and increase my growth as an individual. It’s taken time, education, patience, work, and a whole lot of passion to get to this point, but I would do it all over again if it meant being able to do what I love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Wright Esthetics Skin Revision, LLC was started to provide clients everywhere with access to the knowledge and products they need to get the results they desire for their skin. I first started by doing virtual consultations and providing skincare regimens while also working full-time for those who were out of state then in July 2021 I started to fully focus on Wright Esthetics full-time. I specialize in skin revision and helping my clients maintain healthy skin throughout all seasons of life. Whether it be acne, rosacea, pigmentation, texture, tone, eczema, scars, stretch marks, skin inflammatory conditions on the body, etc. I love helping my clients gain confidence in their skin without makeup and filters.
At Wright Esthetics, we believe in results-driven esthetics to give our clients healthy skin through clinically proven products and treatments. My personal goal when working with clients is to help them feel amazing in their skin and make sure their hard-earned money is well spent on something that will work. Wright Esthetics is a safe space for anyone who enters. Healing the skin is a very vulnerable thing, and I am very aware of that, so I aim to make Wright Esthetics a place where my clientele feels cared for, loved, and safe. My clients feel like friends to me. I am so grateful to have the clients that I do!
I serve clients nationwide who are in all stages of life. Students, full-time workers, moms, dads, soon-to-be brides, and grooms. Whatever stage of life you are in, Wright Esthetics is a place for you to focus on yourself. Our treatments are suited for your individual needs. Whether it be a consultation, treatment, or product pickup, it is a time for you to recharge, relax and get closer to your skin goals all at once. Our mission is for each of my clients to feel like the best version of themselves every time they leave the treatment room, and for you to have all the tools you need to continue to treat your skin needs at home. I aim to ensure that my clients feel educated and empowered when it comes to their skin.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned throughout my career is the importance of continued learning and education. Because of ongoing new products and treatments being created, continued education is crucial to understanding these new developments for potential implementation. Continuing education is also imperative to provide your clients with the best results as everyone’s skin is different. I continue learning every day to be the best esthetician I can be. I have also learned that it’s important to keep your head up and not compare! Every esthetician is different. We are all individuals with different specialties, approaches, personalities, etc. This is a wonderful thing that allows us to be uniquely suited to everyone out there. There is space for all service providers. Keep learning, stop comparing, and embrace being you!
