Inspiring Conversations with Kacie Pinder of 7 Sacred Spaces

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kacie Pinder.

Hi Kacie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a 500 Hour E-RYT, who has trained in India as well as multiple trainings and multiple certifications in the U.S. Kacie is also certified in Breathwork, Hammock Yoga, Sound Healing, Restorative Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Energy Work, and Cold Therapy. These are my papered credentials, yet it’s been the experiences that truly formed me as a Teacher and Human.

I have been a yoga teacher for 11 years and yoga has been one of my biggest journeys, providing me a path to finding myself. This journey ignited a passion for teaching everyday humans, who are searching for truth like I have. My goal is to infuse an experience into the practice of yoga by incorporating spirituality, rituals, & breath-work exercises to provide the knowledge to ground down in everyday life.

My reality has been that before I can grow, I have had to peel back layers and do the work required of investigating my wounds. I found that through yoga, in alchemy with other modalities, I have been able to ground and breathe.

I questioned how I’ve lived my life, how I’ve shown up in this world, addressed the ripple effect I have had, and my behaviors. This has been no easy feat, my friends. And I’m still learning to pull all the layers back. My experiences have become my teacher, and have allowed me the space to invite others.

This is the work of a hero. And we are all invited to be our own hero as we show up over and over again, without the guarantee of an outcome.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I was married at 19, like all good Mormons in Utah. I had my daughter at 20, I left the church at 22, I divorced my children’s father a few years ago and I am with the love of my life, a woman. We fought like hell and went through hell to be together. Between smear campaigns, slander and gossip, I have fought every day to show up in my world and not give up, to continue teaching yoga when it was the last thing it felt like I should be doing. I had to work hard to practice what I preach, to stand up and fight for myself when all I really wanted to do was crawl under the covers. This was my journey into the underworld and I was stuck there for 4 years working on myself, through myself, through patterns that were both mine and my ancestors. I did this through practices of Breathwork, yoga, self-inquiry, and cold therapy. They truly saved me from being crazy, from depression, moving through rage like I have never before experienced in my life. I had to have modalities to work through all of it. So many people tell you “just let it go” or “get over it”, but my question was HOW?? This was my way and I am so thankful for these practices. I would not be today where I am without them. It is easy right in this moment to be thankful for where I am today, with two dogs sitting next to me, while I type this up, but I honestly felt like I was going to die most days and often asked myself what was the point of any of it? I want people who are struggling to understand that there is a way out, it takes a lot of work, time and proactive choices, but it is possible. Time does not heal all wounds, the drive to have a better life, the choices to let go of people and places that no longer serve you….that is what heals you and it’s hard. You have to have endings to have beginnings.

As you know, we’re big fans of 7 Sacred Spaces. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My partner Kim and I each perfected our own craft for many years before coming to find one another. Together we are the Yin and the Yang, the light and the dark. She offers Self Inquiry, you question the stressful thoughts/stories. You are not the stories you think, yet you are until you create new neural pathways in your brain. I have trained in India about yoga, kundalini, Breathwork, sound healing and energy. My approach is moving the stagnant, stale energies out of the body. You have to have a way to physically let it rise up so that you can acknowledge it is there. You do have to push it out of your body or it becomes inflammation, dis-ease, disease, stagnancy, depression.

We offer hot/cold therapy, sound healings, hammock yoga for low back pain and tight hips, Breathwork workshops once a month with our 8-foot handmade Gong from the Netherlands. Self Inquiry for the brain.

We offer all of these things on our retreats as well. We host our own and we travel to do private retreats or offer pieces of what we do for other companies as well.

What sets us apart from everything popping up is that we are both walking products of the modalities we teach, we have been refining them for over a decade. The key word there is what we have been practicing for over a decade. A lot of people want to jump in after being trained in something and what to offer it to other people before having experience or practicing what they preach. That is the most important quality and principle to both of us, integrity.

I am so proud to have created a space for true healing. People can come and do their own work, while we hold a safe clean space for them to address themselves. No drugs, no plants, no herbs, just you and your Breath. That’s it. It’s all. You ever need. It exists already within you.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was sitting in my Grandparents’ basement in their bed with them, sandwiched between the two of them watching Pete’s Dragon. I made fun of my Grandpa for having cookies under his pillow and then my Grandpa and I made fun of my Grandma for falling asleep with Skittles in her hand. My Grandparents are where my most cherished childhood memories took place.
