Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am the CEO.PRESIDENT.& FOUNDER of several nationwide insurance-based tech companies. I am in the 1% of my industry where 98% of the ownership is male! I am an Independent Insurance Broker – 1 of 1046 left in the country. Integrity and work ethic are my most valuable traits which have helped me develop great friendships and long-term business relationships along the way. I am most proud of the strong referral base I’ve established over the years and even if you may not need my help, chances are you have a friend, family member, or colleague who does. Originally, I am from Bosnia & Herzegovina, I spent 8 years living and going to school in Germany, and I immigrated to the United States as a refugee from the Yugoslav war 1991 – 2001. I have lived in 2 continents, 3 countries, and 5 different states in the U.S.
I’ve traveled to 16 countries and visited 48 of 50 states in America so far. The diverse relationships I’ve built, range from Entrepreneurs whose net worth are above $700 Million +, to small business owners, students who are just leaving the nest, to first-time home buyers. My expertise ranges from high-end, luxury, one-of-a-kind items to normal day-to-day things. I help clients from all ages and backgrounds protect their assets, plan their future, build their wealth, and protect their legacies. My transparent and direct approach makes it easy to understand what you are signing up for, what you are paying, and what your expectations should be. I am available to my clients by cell phone, text, email, Instagram, and Facebook – anytime, any day, and I always answer. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Before opening up my independent insurance firm, I was fired from a top leading company (whose name we will not mention) for conducting business digitally and remotely as I do now. I was before my time. Things have come full circle now, that same company has owners who hire us to train their agencies on our operation and structure. In addition, after having opened independently, all insurance companies but one (there are 300) declined doing business with me, again, because of my innovative digital methods of operation. Thankfully the one that did give me an opportunity set the trend for the others to follow suit. Now we proudly work with all of them. This in addition to having faced multiple lawsuits, all of which I successfully won. Being a female, a minority, and being under age 35 have all had their respective challenges.
