Inspiring Conversations with Rhianna Anderson of Saltwater Permanent Jewelry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhianna Anderson.

Hi Rhianna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before I started Saltwater I was a full time mom to my son Jack, who was 18 months old when I started researching permanent jewelry. I had just recently stopped my content creation business creating UGC & working with brands and needed something sustainable that I was able to fit in my schedule as a mom!

Permanent jewelry is everything I needed and more. Not only was I able to use my skills creating content but I was able to create something that really mattered. I didn’t want to be “just another permanent jewelry girl” here in Utah. So Saltwater was created with the intention of representing your stories & relationships you want to carry with you. These memories deserve to be remembered with something lasting and beautiful, not hidden away in a keepsake box.

We’ve grown so much in just a year and a half and I largely think it’s because of the relationships I’ve been able to create with so many people here in Utah. I’ve been able to connect with thousands of people across Utah valley and give them the opportunity to create jewelry that tells their story.

In January 2025 I opened our first studio in Orem and now take appointments almost daily! I’m so grateful to be able to work AND be an active & present mother in my son’s life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Creating any successful business is hard work and takes major dedication in my opinion. Great things come from hard work and with that comes bumps in the road. Things that people would consider failure, are often times learning lessons to improve for next time!

The first year of Saltwater was a constant hustle and I often was doing a pop up or event every single weekend. Permanent jewelry is not your typical service where clients return every couple of weeks so it’s always a challenge to find new clients!

I put a lot of pressure on myself to create something special and I joke that I traded in a 9-5 job for a 24/7. But I love it so much!!

I’ve also had to learn how to navigate the permanent jewelry industry not being a regulated or licensed industry. With this comes of a lot of opportunity but also a lot of misinformation. I’ve had to research, learn and teach myself the proper techniques, safety, metal education and more!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Saltwater Permanent Jewelry?
Saltwater Permanent Jewelry specializes in custom fit, clasp free jewelry pieces that are micro welded together with a jump ring to create one continuous piece. We use high quality stainless steel, 14k gold filled, and sterling silver chains and charms to create your unique piece.

We currently offer 50+ chain options with a wide variety of charms including pearls, initials, & birthstones. Included with every purchase is a lifetime weld warranty, and two free re-welds if you ever need to remove your jewelry. We have an easily accessible studio for appointments up to 10 people and offer mobile parties & events!

Most importantly we use a micro welder created for permanent jewelry! Our welder uses the same technology used by NASA & Tesla and is the gold standard for precision and safety. At Saltwater the quality doesn’t stop at the materials used, the actual weld quality is most important. Which is why we use argon gas to keep any contaminants out of each weld, creating a super strong consistent weld every time.

How do you define success?
Success isn’t a single achievement, it’s the steady climb of growth. Refining your craft, deepening your impact, and expanding your capacity to create and connect. It’s about who you become through the process, not just what you build.
