My journey into the beauty industry started with a passion for self-care and helping others feel confident in their own skin. I went to esthetics school in 2022 and fell in love with waxing—especially Brazilian waxing. There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping someone feel empowered and comfortable in their body.
I opened PurrrFect Wax in early 2023, starting from scratch while working a full-time job and raising my son. It hasn’t always been easy—there were late nights, slow weeks, and moments of doubt—but I stayed focused and kept showing up. I knew I wanted to create a space that felt personal, professional, and safe for everyone.
Over time, I’ve built a loyal client base and a brand that truly reflects who I am. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m even more excited for where I’m headed. This business is not just a way to make a living—it’s a reflection of my growth, grit, and love for what I do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest hurdles has been finding balance, especially as a single mom. There are times I feel like I miss out on time with my son, and that’s really hard. But at the same time, building this business is how I provide for him and create a better future for us both. It’s not always easy, but I try to remind myself that the sacrifices I’m making now are for something meaningful.

PurrrFect Wax is a solo-run waxing business located inside Mel’s Studio Suites in Provo, Utah. I specialize in full-body waxing with a strong emphasis on Brazilian waxing. I’m known for creating a safe, clean, and welcoming space where clients feel comfortable and confident—especially during intimate services that can feel intimidating at first.
What sets PurrrFect Wax apart is the level of care I give to each client. I never rush through appointments, and I pride myself on being detail-oriented and attentive to everyone’s unique skin needs. My clients know they’re not just another time slot—they’re treated like friends, and many of them become regulars not only because of the results but because of the experience.
I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown this brand on my own—while juggling a full-time job and raising my son. Every part of this business has my heart in it. What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like best about Provo is the sense of community. People here are supportive of small businesses, and there’s a strong focus on family values—which really resonates with me as a mom. It’s been amazing to connect with clients who genuinely care and want to see local businesses succeed.
What I like least is that sometimes it feels like there’s a limited mindset when it comes to beauty services or self-care. There can be a bit of hesitation around more personal services like waxing, especially Brazilians. But I see that changing, and I love being part of that shift—helping people see that taking care of themselves is not only okay but necessary.
