Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Anderson.
Hi Whitney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Evo Training Center was born out of necessity.
In Cache Valley, where long winters and heavy snow limit outdoor activity, youth athletes were being stifled by a lack of affordable indoor training space. What began as a shared frustration turned into a bold vision.
A partnership of four individuals came together with nothing more than an idea, a few rough outlines, and the determination to make something meaningful. In the early days, half of that partnership carried the vision forward—imagining, building, and creating Evo through sheer hard work and dedication. They worked tirelessly, navigating obstacles and finding ways to help the business not just survive, but grow.
As life often does, circumstances changed. Leadership shifted, and the remaining partners stepped in to carry Evo forward. What followed was not just continuity—but evolution.
Evo found its true strength through community. Today, the facility is home to several locally owned businesses, including RYZR Rehab Chiropractic, Cache Valley Athletes, Black Site MMA, and Cache Valley Gymnastics. Each of these organizations is run by passionate, dedicated individuals who have consistently supported Evo’s mission and poured into its growth.
The story of Evo is a story of underdogs—of small business owners choosing collaboration over competition, supporting one another, and growing together. It is a story defined by the ability to pivot. While Evo’s original vision looked different from what it is today, its purpose has remained the same: to serve Cache Valley.
Evo Training Center is more than a place for athletes to train. It is a space where families gather, communities connect, and people of all ages invest in their health, their goals, and their future—every single day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth.
Keeping Evo moving forward has required more than vision—it has demanded sacrifice. With four partners at the helm, each carrying the responsibilities of young families and growing personal obligations, the weight was real. Life pulled us in different directions, and there were moments when supporting one another meant allowing partners to step back for a season.
While our commitment to the vision never wavered, the reality of life reshaped what that commitment looked like. Along the way, Evo faced missed timelines, construction delays, and the ongoing pressures of inflation—challenges felt not only by the business, but by the families and community it was built to serve.
None of it was easy. But each obstacle forced adaptation, resilience, and a deeper understanding of what it truly means to build something lasting.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The facility also features a versatile indoor turf field that can be used as a full training field or converted into batting cages, allowing Evo to support a wide range of sports and training needs. This flexibility makes the space equally valuable for team practices, individual skill work, and specialized training sessions.
Beyond its own offerings, Evo is home to several locally owned small businesses that strengthen its mission. These include Cache Valley Athletes, a youth athletic performance and development program; Cache Valley Gymnastics, an elite competitive gymnastics organization; Black Site MMA, a mixed martial arts gym; and RYZR Rehab Chiropractic, one of Cache Valley’s leading sports chiropractic practices.
Together, these organizations create an environment where training, recovery, and community exist under one roof.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I was originally the least involved partner in Evo Training Center. My husband joined the business alongside the other partners, while I remained largely on the sidelines. I didn’t attend meetings, and at one point, I even joked about removing myself from the group chat altogether—I simply wasn’t very interested in the business at the time.
Fast forward two and a half years, and I now serve as the primary operator of Evo.
Life has a way of surprising you.
Today, I balance running the facility while raising three young children, ages seven, five, and two. My hands are full in every sense of the word, but the journey has shaped both my leadership and my perspective. What once felt distant has become deeply personal, and Evo has grown into more than a business—it has become part of our family’s story.
