Hi Yarasen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Yarasen Garcia, and I am the owner of Dreams Fiesta and Art’s Pool and Spas. Dreams Fiesta specializes in balloon decorations and event styling, primarily based in Utah. I have always had a passion for helping my community, volunteering, and making balloon arrangements. The vibrant colors, the shapes, the designs of working with balloons have always alleviate my anxiety and that is what initially got me to start balloon arches. While volunteering, I began creating balloon designs for the special annual events held by a local nonprofit organization, after getting several compliments from patrons at the events and fellow volunteer staff and realizing that more nonprofits could benefit from my balloon arrangements to provide them at a lower cost for their events, I decided it was time to start my small business in my hometown of Heber Valley. Growing up, I didn’t have many parties or celebrations, so I decided that, as an adult, I was going to help others celebrate their special moments, days, and events. I believe that every person deserves to have “fiestas” in their lives, and I am committed to helping others celebrate with bright balloon creations.
Even though I love working with balloons I also own Art’s Pool and Spa services, one day as I took my kids to a local swimming pool I became concerned with the sanitation of the pool and was told that they were not many pool companies around, I immediately knew that my husband would be perfect for the job, my husband already had lots of training and knowledge with commercial pool equipment and maintenance but was hesitant to do it as a business, since you never know how it will go and if it will eventually work, but I already had a vision therefore I committed myself to learning everything I could within the pool and spa industry, I traveled to other states to obtain masterclasses in pool equipment and before long I was ready, I presented my husband with a plan including how important it is to provide top-of-the-line quality pool maintenance, I cannot express how I enjoy working with swimming pools but my favorite part of the job is using art the art of providing professional and effective pool cleaning comprehensive maintenance, our artist (technicians) make sure that the water is clean and all chemicals are at correct level using a combination of skills and creativity to restore neglected pools bringing them back to life, from routine cleaning tasks to tackling challenges like algae growth, broken pumps and malfunctioning heaters the art of pool cleaning is about creating an inviting oasis that enhances the well-being of our clients, we care about the safety and health of our community that is why I created Art’s Pool and Spa Services, we are now one of the most preferred pool commercial companies in all the Wasatch back.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in life ever seems to be smooth, and starting a business with absolutely nothing is probably one of the hardest things I can think of, there were many obstacles: having no connections, and many failures, I wasn’t sure I was fully prepared for the challenges ahead, and there were days when I felt like quitting, however I never gave up and understood what it meant to be an entrepreneur and be completely self-reliant, I am very proud of what I have accomplished by doing my absolute best with the opportunities and abilities I have been given.

I am the kind of person that is always learning, listening to what others need and the most important to me is accepting constructive critiques from others, finding great ways to improve not only as a business but as a person is my top priority, I constantly learned from local experts in my community acquiring valuable access to information and resources to aid my own leadership endeavors, and gain an enhanced understanding of my community.
I am always looking for ways to better served my community and one of the most rewarding aspects of being an entrepreneur is the joy and excitement that my work brings to others.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Leaving a full time job and a steady paycheck, putting time, effort in creating a new business was a major risk, however that was only one of many risks , as the business is running we continue to make calculated risks to grow our business, I have learned that with careful planning and hard work taking risks helps us progress and grow, risks are necessary to achieve success.
