Life & Work with Breanna Heath of West Haven

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Heath.

Hi Breanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a freelance makeup and brow artist specializing in waxing, brows, and event makeup. My love for beauty started when I was a little girl, watching tutorials and practicing on myself until friends and family began asking me to do their makeup. After years of encouragement, I finally took a leap of faith about two years ago and started building my business.
Since then, I’ve worked with clients across Utah and Idaho, from photoshoots and events to bridal parties. What I love most isn’t just the artistry it’s helping people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
My journey hasn’t been traditional. I became a mom at 17, which was both a blessing and a lonely experience. Stepping into the beauty world gave me connection, confidence, and a community of incredible women. It’s been healing in ways I didn’t expect, and it inspires me to keep growing.
Now, while raising my two little ones and working toward my nursing degree, I balance beauty as my side hustle. My dream is to one day open a beauty and aesthetics spa that combines all aspects of beauty and wellness. Most importantly, I hope my story shows other young moms that you can still chase your dreams while being the best mom you can be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Becoming a mom at 17 meant I had to grow up quickly, and while it’s been the biggest blessing of my life, it also came with challenges like learning to balance motherhood, school, and pursuing my passions. On top of that, when I first started doing makeup professionally, one of my biggest struggles was having the confidence to share my work on social media. Putting myself out there felt intimidating, and I worried about judgment or not being “good enough.”
But over time, I pushed through those fears and realized that confidence grows with every step you take. Each client I worked with reminded me why I love this industry and helped me trust my skills more and more. Looking back, I’m grateful for those struggles because they taught me resilience, courage, and the importance of believing in myself. Today, I see those challenges as stepping stones that have helped me build not just a business, but also a stronger version of myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a freelance makeup and brow artist, and I also specialize in full-body waxing. Most of my work is focused on event and photoshoot makeup, and more recently I’ve stepped into the bridal world, which has been such an exciting new area for me. I also love doing brow lamination, tinting, and shaping, because brows can completely transform someone’s face.
What I’m most proud of is the way I make people feel. For me, it’s not just about makeup or beauty services it’s about creating an experience where clients feel comfortable, confident, and truly beautiful in their own skin. I want them to leave my chair not only loving their look, but also feeling empowered.
What sets me apart is that I bring both passion and empathy into my work. As a young mom, I know what it’s like to struggle with confidence and identity, and I carry that understanding into every client interaction. I love connecting with people, making them feel seen, and reminding them of their beauty. My artistry is important, but my ability to build genuine connections is what really defines my work.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is making a positive impact on others. Through my work, I love helping people feel confident, beautiful, and seen it’s about more than just makeup, it’s about empowerment and connection. That’s what drives me every day and inspires me to keep growing in both beauty and healthcare, so I can continue touching lives in meaningful ways.
