Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Miller.
Hi Caitlin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Physical Therapist turns Travel Photographer, Digital Marketing Strategist & Freelance Lifestyle Model. —
From a young age, I remember having a camera in hand, whether it was a disposable or the latest point-and-shoot. I found myself scouting for intriguing scenery, appealing architecture, and candid moments between family and friends. New places, architecture, and fashion always inspired my creativity and curiosity.
When it was time to go to college, I chose to forego the creative route and pursue a career in Physical Therapy. I graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy and practiced in that space for several years while continuing my passion for photography and travel on the side.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I started dedicating more time to photography, digital marketing, and freelance modeling. After several months, I was able to step away from physical therapy and take my business full-time. This was the beginning of Scenic Days as a brand and I have been operating as the founder and CEO ever since.
This pivot opened an array of doors and opportunities that have helped me grow as an individual and also take my business to the next level. One of the biggest opportunities was the ability to work remotely. This allowed my husband and I to start traveling full-time, fueling our passion for exploring new places while also elevating the services I was providing to my clients in being able to capture & create content for their brands in locations all over the world.
I now provide a variety of services to my clients including photography, content creation, digital marketing consulting, freelance modeling, travel planning & coaching. It’s been so fun to see my creativity blossom again with the added bonus of being able to work and create from anywhere.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve learned that no matter what road you choose there will be bumps and curves along the way. It’s how you choose to navigate them that really makes the difference. One of the most challenging aspects of my journey was learning that my identity isn’t solely tied to my profession. As humans, we are multifaceted and it’s okay to try new things and detour from our original route.
Another challenging aspect I learned along the way was gaining credibility in a new industry. Coming from a completely different field of work and starting a new business, I had to be more proactive in putting myself out there, showing the value of my work, and continually investing in my skills in order to provide the high-quality work I aim to deliver.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My brand, Scenic Days, is a creative company. I specialize in luxury travel and lifestyle photography, digital strategy, content creation & freelance lifestyle modeling.
I create elevated content with a curated approach to capture the stories, moments, and feelings brands are looking to evoke with their marketing campaigns. My travels also allow brands to bring concepts to life and have content created in locations they may not have otherwise had access to.
While I’m devoted to my art, I value my client’s experience and the impact of our work above all else. I thrive on building trusted relationships and strong communication with individuals/brands I work with. This allows me to get to know your goals, key messaging, aesthetic, vision, etc, and creates a more successful partnership.
