Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Smith.
Hi Caleb, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, my story isn’t some perfect straight line. It’s been a mix of places, people, mistakes, growth, and God pulling me forward even when I wasn’t really paying attention.
I grew up in Utah, but had the opportunity to visit much of the U.S. until eventually, I ended up spending two years in Benin, for an LDS mission and that changed me in ways I didn’t even understand at the time. Life over there is slower, more intentional, more community‑based. People lean on God in a way that’s not performative
It’s just part of their daily rhythm. Being around that kind of faith made me rethink a lot. It humbled me. It made me realize how much I needed Jesus Christ, not just when life was falling apart, but even when things were fine.
Coming back to the U.S., I went straight into the grind — long weeks as a service tech, sales before that, just working nonstop. I’ve always had side hustles too: flipping 3D printers, planning out duck‑themed car content, building ideas that feel like me instead of trying to fit into whatever everyone else is doing. I like creating things that have personality.
Stay tuned for the replacement for the Duck Stang, you can follow the projects on @calebammonsmith
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve had my ups and downs — especially with my weight. I’ve been 285, I’ve been 190, I’ve been disciplined, I’ve been distracted. I dropped weight in Africa, came back at 204, and now I’m around 225. It’s been a cycle, but it’s also been a reminder that I’m capable of big change when I’m actually aligned — mentally, spiritually, physically. When I’m walking with Jesus, I’m sharper. I’m more disciplined. I’m more myself.
I’ve also had moments where I drifted. Times where I knew better but didn’t do better. Times where I tried to build my life without God and watched it fall apart piece by piece. But every time I turned back, things started lining up again. Not instantly, not magically — but steadily. That’s how Jesus works with me. He doesn’t force me; He guides me.
And yeah, there was also someone I cared about in the middle of all this. But the biggest thing I had to learn was that my repentance couldn’t be about her. It had to be about Jesus. I didn’t change to impress anyone. I changed because I finally understood who He is and who I want to be in Him. If anything good comes from that, it’ll be because it’s aligned with God, not because I tried to use God as a shortcut.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a business philanthropist, I am building content that I hope will enable me both to live my dreams, and change the world.
My main project right now, which is really just phase 1 of many, is @carsandcharityusa, where we organize charity car events that raise money for cancer. So far we have raised over $10,000.
To gain traction, and attention there are many people that know me from my former car which was a 2006 bright yellow ford mustang, complete with Lamborghini doors, and a giant rubber duck. Unfortunately that car recently gave up on us, but there are plans to replace it here soon and I hope to continue to use fun themed cars to inspire charitable growth.
