Today we’d like to introduce you to Cayden Gaston
Hi Cayden, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
it all started when I was working for my brothers start up company, and he asked me if I could do anything what would it be… I told him I wanted to have my own clothing brand. the next question was what would I call it… thats when I came up with Never Ending Threads that was years before anything happened but my brother bought the domain without me knowing. after a year or two of nothing I finally started with upcylced old clothes, as time went by I started doing local markets and selling on facebook. Then I took the leap and made myself a pair of what I call gypsy boots, I took an old pair of my cowboy boots cut them and folded them over and decorated them like the true gypsy cowgirl I am, layers of lace and leather belts brought them to life. I took them on a road trip 1/2 way across the country and got a million compliments so when I got home I started sourcing boots and away we went. over the next couple years of making gypsy boots I taught myself leather work, making purses, wallets, braiding leather necklaces, i then fell in love hats and starting buying old felt cowboy hats and taught myself and in true artist form I let my ADD take the lead and I also learned to silver smith. Never Ending Threads finally became the brand I had always been dreaming of. the one stop shop where you can get a complete look from head to toe. from hats to boots.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
its been a long road, with some pot holes and washouts. trying to do all the things as one person can be daunting but its so worth it to be my own boss and get to create every single day
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most proud to say that I have been doing this for 9 years now, and its been all on my own. of course with the support of all my friends and family. I dont think I could choose one thing as a specialty but my booots, hat and jewelry are the most well know.
What are your plans for the future?
in the future I plan to keep growing my skills, attending local markets and maybe a few music festivals this summer. but main focus will be letting my creativity fly and creating one of a kind pieces. You can find me some sundays this summer at the Bazaar Market in the millcreek commons
